The final phase had students exploring Computer Engineering. After several “un-plugged” activities, students were allowed to delve into coding. Students worked individually and with the support of peers to master programs that required correct coding to move characters through mazes and complete line drawings. Each phase of the nine week intervention class was shrouded with a strong emphasis on process, vocabulary, critical and out of the box thinking along with product development. The confidence in the students who completed the first class was infectious and it is hoped that it continues to translate into regular classroom achievement.
