The Husky Library Knows How to ROCK!
On March 21st, the EPIC PROPORTIONS tour visited the Chapin Library for a ROCKIN’ lunch time concert!!! Students were treated to music from Gabe Kubanda and Bristol to Memory. This is the fourth time the tour has played for the Huskies, and the third time in our library. After the lunchtime concert, the band members sat down to chat with our Chapin guitar classes to offer their advice and expertise on how to make it in the music business. Topics ranged from music merchandise marketing to music recording, and of course to being a musician. The bands were also quite impressed with the Husky Library Makerspace Recording Studio, and we are in the works to have our students collaborate with them and make some music on their next time through El Paso. The Chapin Husky Library…not your mother’s library!!!
Captain John Studios: The Chapin Library Makerspace
The Chapin Library Makerspace is in full effect! We are excited to say that we have many students already using our makerspace recording equipment. Students are making time to come down and create their own music, as well as work on projects for class and even submissions for the EPISD Digital Film Festival. Their creativity and hard work is really paying off, and they are just getting started!
