The Soft Issue August 2017 Poetry THIS IS HOW I SELF DESTRUCT By: David Iruoje I pull the pin on my emotions then swallow them I explode into countless pieces inside me I light myself-IN-flame of passion Where there is oxygen of reciprocation I drown myself in pity I suffocate in paper bags of shame I strangle my pride in a berserker rage I overdose on my addictions I jump in front of the speeding train of my thoughts and get crushed under the weight of retrospection; I face the darkness wearing no armour at all and melt down like a wax reactor.
