THIS
IS HOW I SELF
DESTRUCT
By: David Iruoje
I pull the pin on my emotions
then swallow them
I explode into countless pieces inside me
I light myself-IN-flame of passion
Where there is oxygen of reciprocation
I drown myself in pity
I suffocate in paper bags of shame
I strangle my pride in a berserker rage
I overdose on my addictions
I jump in front of the speeding
train of my thoughts and get crushed under the weight
of retrospection;
I face the darkness
wearing no armour at all
and melt down like a wax reactor.
This is how I self-destruct.
