Personal Story - Ferris’ Story (Splenic Hemangiosarcoma)
Rick Simpson Cannabis Oil For Pet Cats & Dogs With Cancer – 3rd February 2018
Ferris is my 12-year-old blue Abyssinian and
companion since he was 9 weeks old.
He turns 13 next month, and continues to
outlive expectations by almost a year.
After his emergency splenectomy and grim
diagnosis, I was told by the Oncologist that
the typical life expectancy would be 6 months
from the time of the spleen rupturing…and
that short time was only possible with rounds
of chemo.
If I did not do chemo, the expectancy was 2
weeks. Yes, two weeks.
I must add that this information is based on
what they see happen to dogs.
Hemangiosarcoma is a malignant and
aggressive cancer that arises from the cells
that line blood vessels of various tissues of the
body.
It is common in dogs, but extremely rare in
cats. Even at the VCA animal hospital in San
Diego, they have only seen this cancer in
maybe 2 cats ever.
My primary vet had never heard of a cat
getting it.
Typical, I thought. I always call Ferris a dog-
cat. Of course he would get a dog cancer.
I won’t get into the details of the day I nearly
lost him. The worst and scariest day of my
life. I’ll start on the day I received the phone
call of the results of the biopsy of his removed
spleen.
The diagnosis was a word I’d never heard, and
definitely could not spell.
The information didn’t register.
The call I was expecting was that everything
was fine, it was a freak accident and benign.
I thought it was all over. But now I was told I
should make an appointment with oncology to
discuss my options.
My initial plan was to hear them out and tell
them no, I was not interested in putting my cat
through chemo.
Little did I know that the true significance of
day of my appt. would actually happen in the
waiting room before meeting with the
Oncologist.
It was there that I ran into an old college
acquaintance I haven’t seen in over 12 years.
Out of all the days, times, and animal
hospitals in San Diego, I ran into this old
friend and her dog who was receiving chemo
for Lymphoma.
We got to chatting and she casually
mentioned that they decided to give their dog
edibles to help with his decreased appetite and
nausea from the chemo. And it helped. And
then they started getting RSO from a
dispensary (husband had a medical card for
himself) and putting it on treats. And it was
magic.
The giant tumour on this side of his neck
completely disappeared and he was like a
puppy again.
Huh…..had never heard of Rick Simpson Oil.
I would have never had the thought to try such
a thing on my cat. This information fell in my
lap, minutes before my first Oncology appt.
where I was debating the idea of chemo after
all he went through already.
I believe in the law of attraction and signs
from the universe. This was not random.
This was the answer I didn’t even know to
search for and I took it seriously.
Then the bizarre signs continued…..
A friend of a colleague of my sister chatted
with me at her work function, and after
