As you mentioned assisting us in raising funds for programming needs, we detail here the kinds
of programming support that would facilitate NEXUS to realize its full potential. These funds
would be very useful in the first 3 years of the institute, with business models developed to make
the institute self-sustaining at that point.

One of only 29 Federal Secure Data Centers in the U.S.
• Allows researchers access to restricted-use data from the Census and other governmental agencies.
DIGIT LAB
• Provides Geographical Information Systems (GIS) infrastructure for analysis
Behavioral Economics Laboratory
• Laboratory designed to examine how individuals make rational as well as more
emotion-based decisions.
Political Science Experimental Laboratory
• Computer laboratory to examine political persuasion, voting behaviors, and conflict.
Focus Group Room
• A state-of-the-art room to conduct focus groups to open new avenues of research with indi-
viduals of diverse groups.
Large Conference Space
• Two large auditoriums are available in the Carolyn and Kem Gardner Commons Building that
can be used for forums hosted by NEXUS.
