OUR COMMITMENT to Climate Action
As part of our Active Stewardship strategy, Crofton House School has joined the comprehensive threeyear Climate Action Accelerator Program( CAAP) to support a longterm, strategic approach to reducing our carbon footprint, strengthening sustainable practices, and embedding environmental responsibility across our community. This work advances our broader commitment to responsibility— ensuring that our practices and partnerships reflect principled stewardship, and that we sustain and grow our contributions to our community for generations to come.

centres on building capacity while fostering hope, leadership, and meaningful action among students and adults alike, and offers opportunities to learn alongside peer schools with shared goals. Crofton House is part of a cohort with St. John’ s-Ravenscourt School in Winnipeg for the duration of the program.
The Crofton House CAAP team— bringing together staff and students— is working to shape a shared vision and take the first steps toward a school-wide meaningful sustainability plan. Grounded in collaboration, the work includes strengthening waste systems, improving how we track and reduce greenhouse gas( GHG) emissions, supporting ongoing learning through the regeneration Professional Learning Community, and continuing to restore and reimagine The Woods as an outdoor learning space, including the development and installation of an outdoor classroom.
This growing momentum is also reaching beyond our campus. This spring, Crofton House presented at the International Coalition of Girls’ Schools( ICGS) Global Forum on Girls’ Education in Toronto, sharing our climate and regeneration journey, and offering practical pathways for schools looking to deepen their commitment to sustainability and girls’ leadership.
We look forward to sharing further updates on campus initiatives in the next two years of CAAP.
