MEANINGFUL Connections
A MESSAGE FROM THE CHS PARENTS’ AUXILIARY
As I start my final year as Chair, Parents’ Auxiliary, I continue to be both inspired and immensely grateful for the highly engaged and committed school community at CHS.
The mission of the Parents’ Auxiliary is to create an active, inclusive and engaged community that enriches school life for families. Not surprisingly, the PA’ s mission is closely aligned with a key tenet of the School’ s strategic plan, Thriving in Possibility – namely, the commitment to belonging and creating a culture that fosters community and connection. We do this through facilitating volunteer opportunities for parents( and often, students) to be involved and active in our community.
The PA hosts a variety of events and programs throughout the school year with the express purpose of creating opportunities for belonging. From school-wide events such as the Welcome Back Celebration and Winter Bazaar to grade events and parent socials organized by Class Parents, and everything in between, we aim to offer multiple ways for families to connect.
Last year, we were thrilled to launch several new events:
• Senior School Pop Culture Trivia: A fun evening of games, dancing and connection specifically for Senior School students and parents. This event is a companion event to the Junior School Family Dance.
• Multicultural Celebration: An after-school event for students and families to celebrate the diversity in our community and foster connection. The 2025 event featured 11 different countries with students, parents and even grandparents in attendance, with interactive games, activities, costumes, cultural pride and shared experiences.
• Parent Pickleball: An active way for parents across all grades to meet and connect over the weekends during the school year, for beginners and experienced players alike.
Launching these new events while continuing our usual programming has only been possible due to the incredible efforts of parent volunteers and a strong partnership with School leadership and staff. Last year, we had over 150 parent volunteers step up in leadership roles, and there were countless more who contributed their time and energy to support event logistics.
As we embark on another school year, I encourage you to stay involved and connected. If you’ re new to Crofton House or simply haven’ t had a chance to get involved yet, I invite you to join us, whether it’ s attending an event or simply introducing yourself and making a new connection. Creating a sense of belonging and a vibrant community ultimately comes down to each and every one of us.
With gratitude for your continued support,
Tracy Tong Chair, CHS Parents’ Auxiliary
