GRADE 10 – 12 PRODUCTION : ALMOST , MAINE
This year , Grade 10 – 12 students took on the dynamic topic of love and relationships . In a small town called Almost , Maine , a fateful Friday night weaves seven stories exploring the complexities of love . This production encouraged students to push onstage portrayals of emotion and movement . This year was especially unique , as actors underwent stunt choreography workshops to prepare for their roles and the onstage action sequences . With equal measures of honesty and heartwarming humour , audiences came away with an appreciation for creative storytelling and the students ’ ability to deliver a high-quality production .
“ I learned a lot more about shifting different aspects of my acting to reflect a difference in character . With the way I talk , move or just hold myself , I can make a subtle but effective shift in the way my characters appear .
Theatre offers a safe environment for you to be vulnerable and to think about your emotions and perspectives . The school productions are a great way to not only learn more about yourself , but also to grow as an actor .” – Megan , Grade 10 , Actor
