The Ivy Magazine Fall 2024 | Seite 35

This year , community-building activities during lunchtime flourished , including fun activities such as pickleball , spikeball and a series of teacher vs . student games !
Golf was introduced as a new CHS sport , with a team that encompasses students in Grades 8 to 12 .
To further help students joining the Senior School feel welcome , an additional Grade 8 volleyball team was added . “ A vital part of developing a successful and sustainable athletics program is gauging student interest , and evaluating our current bandwidth against the infrastructure
requirements and teacher support capacities for a new sport ,” says Ms Cohee .
In Junior School , it was another year of high participation in all athletic activities from volleyball to track and field . As always , the emphasis was on participation , fair play , skill development and instilling a lifelong commitment to regular physical activity from a young age .
Overall , it was a great year to be a CHS Falcon !
