“ I like all sports , but I specifically like volleyball because it ’ s all about team effort . When I started out , I was really nervous . But then I had all my friends with me and we ’ re all learning the same thing , so it just became a group collaboration , and I think over the years my group collaboration has gotten better . I ’ ve developed many fundamental skills , and it has become a building block if I want to progress further or if I want to try another sport .” – Sophie , Grade 7
JUNIOR SCHOOL AT A GLANCE
• The Grade 7A volleyball team were champions in the ISEA ( Independent Schools Elementary Association ) tournament .
• Over 140 team members in the Grade 4 – 7 track and field team competed in various meets around Vancouver and concluded the season by winning the BC Elementary Championships Meet with the overall Girls Team Award .
• The Grade 4 – 7 team were also the 2023 ISEA track and field champions .
• Over 65 Grade 3 – 7 athletes participated in the first Junior School spring field hockey session .
• Grade 6 – 7 students competed in the first spring field hockey jamboree .
• The CHS Badminton Classic was held with 18 pairs of students competing . This event was held after school for the first time this year , allowing parents to attend .
