SUPPORTING Connections
Crofton House ’ s alumnae , who bring valuable expertise , experience and history to campus , are essential to our larger community . With over 4,500 CHS alumnae , having a staff member dedicated to creating meaningful connections is pivotal . Since October 2021 , that role has been held by Lesley Campbell , Assistant Director , Alumnae Relations .
Lesley has over 15 years of experience and an extensive background in alumnae relations and development . Before joining us at Crofton House , she served in various development positions at the
University of British Columbia , and she was previously the Associate Director of Advancement for St . George ’ s School .
Personally , Lesley has family ties to single-gender education and a deep appreciation for the values set forward in an all-girls ’ landscape . “ I ’ m a believer in an all-girls ’ education ; I think there ’ s a real value in allowing girls to just be themselves and explore . And you can see it here on campus every day — there ’ s just a heightened level of freedom for the girls to just be able to play and be who they want to be ,” she said .
In her role at CHS , she is inspired by the diversity of alumnae and their deep connection to Crofton House . “ I really enjoy getting to know this exciting and diverse group of women and hearing their stories . It ’ s wonderful to see the decades of friendships and connections they have made together , which all started here at Crofton House .”
And it ’ s exciting to find ways to support those connections as the world opens up post-pandemic . “ There are wonderful opportunities for alumnae to either visit in person or through Zoom — to share their expertise , to write a letter through the Pen Pal Program , or to come back and visit the School ,” said Lesley . “ In some cases , it ’ s been decades since they ’ ve been here .
“ There ’ s a lot that we can still do , and that ’ s the exciting part — I want to ensure that we have opportunities for students to meet alumnae and learn from their life experiences and opportunities for alumnae to return to campus to see all the innovative things the students are doing in service , sports , the arts and learning .
“ We have already had alumnae returning to Crofton House to celebrate their reunion milestone years . If you have a big reunion year approaching , please reach out as we would be happy to support this celebration . And CHS has its own milestone to celebrate : our 125th birthday ! Stay tuned for details .”
