I Have a Dream by Angela Bordi

I HAVE A DREAM
I’ve had a dream since that day,
When the bright day became grey
And people did not find their way.
Over a week has gone by,
And still words don’t part our lips
‘Cause it aches and burns still.
It’s not easy to believe
All those souls are now free.
They have gone to a holy place
Where they will shine and live.
Deep, distant sounds can be heard,
Some of them fade away,
Others just stay in the place
Where it all began and still remains.
Injustice is a word that can be heard,
Spelled by those victims that have stayed.
Some without their homes,
which are in ruins left.
Others without their loves,
Which is far worse.
Simple is my dream,
Which may be yours as well,
That such a tragedy will not happen again.
Frozen is people’s hope,
Frozen is the city while life goes on,
And frozen forever it will exist
With broken hearts and broken dreams.
