Sunday Crafts (10 – 12 noon) – The
following craft activities will be taking
place during November:
Sunday 4th – Tomorrow is Guy Fawkes
Night. Pop along and make your own
3D fi rework decoration;
Sunday 11th – Today is Remembrance
Sunday. Make a poppy to take home or
wear on your coat;
Sunday 18th – Nearly all the leaves
have fallen from the trees now. Make
a hand print, Autumn tree collage to
take home;
Sunday 25th – It’s St Andrew’s Day on
Friday 30th November. Make a Scottie
dog with a jazzy collar to celebrate.
Activities are free. Parents must stay
with under eights. There’s no need to
book – just turn up and have a go.
BookStart – every Thursday (including
holidays).
Tot Rock - 9.45am – 10.15 am.
BabyBounce - 10.30am – 11.00am.
Story Time – every Friday morning
(term time only) 9.45 – 10.15 a.m.

of IT e.g. using your iPad, e-reader or
need guidance downloading e-books
from the library catalogue. Please get

Cards for Good Causes – Charity
Christmas Cards and Suffolk Wildlife
Christmas Cards from Saturday 6th
October (during library opening hours)
- The festive season gets under way
in Kesgrave when the Cards for Good
Causes charity Christmas card shop
opens in Kesgrave Library on Saturday
6th October. Perfect for those who
want to get ahead in their Christmas
preparations, while supporting a range
of national and local charities, the
shop will offer a fantastic range of
cards.
The Kesgrave pop-up shop is part of
a network of 300 temporary shops
running Cards for Good Causes, the
UK’s largest multi-charity Christmas
card organisation. It represents more
than 250 charities including Cancer
Research UK, Barnardo’s, NSPCC,
Alzheimer’s Society and RNLI.
There will also be a selection available
from the Suffolk Wildlife Fund and
the Somersham Ward Support Group
from Ipswich Hospital. The sale of
ever card also helps support your local
library. Why not pop along and see the
selection of cards available?
Suffolk Parent Carer Network: Tuesday
13th November 2.30 – 4.30 p.m. Do
you have a child or young person with
additional needs and/or disabilities?
Would you like to have access to
resources and events? Pop along to
the library and meet the Ambassador
from the SPCN, who is returning to
the library and will be available to
offer support and advice on a range
of issues.
Scout Post Box – The library will be
having the Scout post box for local
deliveries of Christmas cards again this
year, from Sunday 25th November to
Tuesday 11th December. Just pop in
and the box will be beside the staff
desk.
Christmas Fayre – Sunday 2nd
December 10.00 a.m. – 12.00 noon.
There are loads of stalls with fun
games, including a free craft activity
for the children and Father Christmas
to visit. A raffl e and refreshments are
available plus homemade cakes.

On Saturday 9th June please join our
Preliminary and Beginners Bands for
‘Tea & Tunes’ at St Michael’s Church
Centre, Martlesham Heath IP5 3PL,
between 10.00 am and 12.00 noon.
Both bands have been rehearsing
hard for this event, so do come and
support them. Admission is free, and
refreshments will be available. There
will also be a cake stall, book stall &
a raffl e. This event was due to take
place in March, but was postponed
due to heavy snow - we’re (almost)
certain this won’t be a problem in
June! You can catch the Main Band
at Ipswich Music Day on 1st July, and
Martlesham Brass are looking forward
to taking part in Martlesham Village
Fete on 14th July - more details about
this next month.
