Toby Mills has worked for MKS2 Technologies since September 2017 . Currently , he works in the role of Solution Architect for the ATRRS project and holds the CISSP credential .

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WORKING IN THE IT INDUSTRY ?

Nothing beats helping a client solve a problem or save time in their daily lives . I ’ ve had the good fortune of working with clients to help them win awards within their companies by bringing some of their ideas to life using business intelligence applications .

There are endless opportunities to tie things together that maybe you didn ’ t know could go together . Think of the all the data floating around . If you had the time and resources , you could solve so many problems here in the United States and for the world .

WHAT IS ONE ITEM ON YOUR BUCKET LIST ?

That ’ s hard to pin down for me because I ’ m interested in so many things . If I were to pick one thing , I ’ d like to visit Plum Village to learn and absorb Buddhist philosophy . Although I ’ m not a Buddhist ( I like meat too much !), I ’ ve always appreciated the philosophy . I would also like to be a medical doctor someday , finish my pilot ’ s license , get back to scuba diving , and be better at the guitar . Heck , I might even dust off my banjo .

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE OR LIFE MANTRA ?

“ Happiness is great , but peacefulness can last forever .” Try to shoot for that in your personal life and relationships .

Another one I like is “ Try to put yourself in a position to get lucky . Try not to put yourself in a position to get unlucky .” Keep working , keep showing up , and eventually , when that opportunity comes along , you ’ ll be ready .

Sandra Snell has worked with MKS2 Technologies since August 2018 . Currently she works in the role of Programmatic Support Service Senior with the Systems Engineering Distance Learning Department Program under the Graduation Education Advancement Center ( GEAC ).

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT WORKING IN THE IT INDUSTRY ?

The creativity . People feel free to think differently and to share those thoughts to create tools and processes that can be incorporated into the project . I love the ability to create and partner with people and to float out great ideas . Sometimes those ideas come to fruition and sometimes they don ’ t , but thinking outside the box and the opportunity to work with others in a large organization is invaluable . The team aspect of working here is what I value most . I work with various people from different departments frequently as well as within my own team . I believe that if we are all on the same page and there is transparency , we will be fluid in our movements and in our thought processes . This creates that cohesiveness and that synergy that propels us forward .

WHAT IS ONE ITEM ON YOUR BUCKET LIST ?

I want to swim in the middle of the Mediterranean off of a yacht . That seems calming and it ’ s just something that I ’ ve always wanted to do . One bucket list item I did get to take care of was to witness the US Open Tennis Championships in 2015 . I am a big fan of tennis , and this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see some of my favorite players .

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE OR LIFE MANTRA ?

To be nice and to look for the positive in every negative situation . For example , we ’ re in a pandemic and we ’ re locked down , but the positive is an opportunity to spend time with family . There are fires happening around where I live , but I have the opportunity to invite people to come and stay and show the kinder side of humanity .
