APPENDIX 1 – Art Nouveau was a movement that swept through the decorative arts and architecture in the late 19th and early 20th centuries (Zurakhinsky, website, 2015). It was aimed at modernizing design; it was attempting to break free from elctetic, historical styles that had been very popular (Zurakhinsky, website, 2015). The movement was inspired by both organic and geometric forms; this had created in one form with more angular forms (Zurakhinsky, website, 2015).
APPENDIX 2 – Synaesthesia Art hears the certain sound that induces the visualisation of a certain colour meaning it’s a communication between colours and music (Hopper et al. pdf, 2015). For example, one colour for one keynote, it is a mixture of colours then a mixture of keynotes will play.
APPENDIX 3 – Fantastic Realism Art is the work of a group of painters working in Vienna 1950s with an interest in modern art movements and psychoanalysis that combine into one (Tate, website, 2016).
APPENDIX 4 – Minimalist Art is a denial of expression coupled with an interest in making objects that avoided the appearance of fine art, it is a movement of abstract expressionism (Zurakhinsky, website, 2015).
APPENDIX 5 – Chiaroscuro it’s an Italian term for light-dark, in paintings the term refers to clear the tonal contrasts in volume and modelling of subjects (National Gallery, website, 2016).
APPENDIX 6 – Freudian it’s related to the influence of Sigmund Freud and his methods of psychoanalysis (OxfordDictionaires, website, 2015).
APPENDIX 7 – Flanuer means it’s a French term for strolling around in a city as a casual wanderer (Seal, website, 2013).
APPENDIX 8 – Kaleidoscopic it means having a complex pattern of colours (OxfordDictionaires, website, 2015).
