Independent Rock Group of Paris, Other Lies mixes energy and the creativity of the movements from Punk (Alternative, New Wave, Post Punk, No Wave), the psychedelic electro-planing atmospheres and the richness of the sounds of acoustic instruments (Cithar, Santur). Drawing on his various influences, Other Lies is happy to experiment Outside of traditional writing rules.

The texts claim a cynical and poetic vision of the world and of the need to find an inner spiritual path in defiance of materialistic or nihilitic approaches. Initiatory journeys between East and West, Other Lies’ songs present nostalgic and hallucinatory visions, inspired by writers such as Hunter S. Thompson, Pierre Lotti or Stéphane Sweig.

The debut album «Beyond Fur» released in 2020 is characterized by a raw new wave sound based on a drum machine/bass pairing rough and airy guitars, the lyrics dealing with duplicity and the fear of abandonment.

Now, Other Lies unveil “Vanity Rewinds”, a new single that delves into the liminal space between death and judgement, where human illusions begin to collapse. Suspended in the afterlife while awaiting the Last Judgement, the narrator comes to a stark realisation: the corruption of the world was never the burden of one individual alone, but a collective condition.
