Prolonged droughts
The northern and central parts of Europe suffered a prolonged period of drought. The seasonal rainfall was lower than the usual average by almost 80% in spring, summer and autumn, which covers the entire period of vegetation and collection.
This situation resulted in agricultural losses (something that compromises the progress made to end malnutrition), restrictions on the use of water and a reduced flow in rivers.
