Each month , one person from each group hosts the three other members to cook and share their recipes for food from their home country . Each lesson finishes with a lunch .

Join the Knit & Natter !
Ina B . Werner
Times have changed and knitting is no longer an occupation for grey-haired grannies . Although the technique of knitting or crocheting is rarely taught in school anymore , a striking number of young and middle aged women – and even some men – are practicing this traditional art . Once you ’ ve got the fever , it won ’ t let you go ! From knitting cuddly animals to classic jackets , fluffy jumpers , warm hats , colourful scarves , cosy baby blankets or warm socks for young and old . The ASC ’ s Knit and Natter club allows you to all this in good company . If you have always wanted learn to knit , want to let the needles rattle again or simply want to try it out to see whether this beautiful handicraft art is right for you , then our knitting group offers you the opportunity to learn new things , refresh old ones , put ideas into practice or simply finish a desired piece . Don ’ t worry if you don ’ t understand the abbreviations or technical terms in the instructions , there is always someone in the group who knows the answer . Equally , don ’ t worry if you haven ’ t got a project in progress , you can always look over someone ’ s shoulder and get inspired . But for most of us , the main reason for attending the knitting group is the social get-together . Meeting new people with the same hobby , socialising , drinking a cup of tea or coffee all whilst while knitting . We would love to see you there .
The Archbishop Santo Marcianò visited the Italian contingent
Adriana Tardi
An important event took place at Imjin Barracks on 13th June .
The Archbishop Santo Marcianò visited the Italian contingent .
The Archbishop Marcianò was born in Reggio Calabria , a city in the south of Italy , in 1960 . At the age of 27 he started his religious career , after only 20 years he became Archbishop of Rossano-Cariati . In 2013 , he was appointed Ordinary Officer for Italy by Papa Francesco .
During his visit , for the first time , he celebrated Mass for the Italian Contingent serving in the ARRC and their families , he specified the importance of family support for soldiers employed abroad , the importance of faith as a support in difficult times and finally he prayed for the countries victims of war .
The Italian Contingent had a pleasure of meeting him and hopes that there will be other opportunities for prayer and spending time with him . the imjin WINTER 2023
