SOCIAL ACTIVITIES Discover the Cotswolds , and much more !
Mélanie Chagneau
Before leaving for the summer holidays , we discovered two famous places : Broadway Tower and the Malvern Hills .
On May 23rd , on a beautiful spring day , we went up to Broadway Tower ( 6.5kms ). This tower is an enduring symbol of the Cotswolds . It is steeped in history and dominates the second highest hill in the region , from where , on a clear day , it is said that 16 counties can be seen . We admired them perfectly during this amazing day !
On June 21st , we discovered the Malvern Hills ( 6kms , 12 participants ). Summer had truly arrived , and the weather was wonderful ! The Malvern Hills form a northsouth range about 14kms long . The rocks forming the core of theses hills were first created over 600 million years ago . With fantastic views from the Cotswolds to the Black Mountains in Wales , open hilltops and wooded slopes , there ’ s something for everyone .

A wonderful picnic in the lavender field Grazia Spizzichino
The lavender fields are magical places to relax with friends and , in June , we visited the Hill Barn Farm Cottage , just over half an hour from Innsworth .
As soon as we arrived at the camp , the scent of lavender enveloped us and welcomed us , kindly inviting us to enter . After stopping briefly at the ticket office , your eyes will be abducted by the lush colours , and once inside : the wonderful expanse of lavender , with its many shades and hues of purple , along with

After our summer break , the season started on September 29th when we walked from Bibury to Coln St Aldwyns , along the River Coln ( 9.5kms , 11 participants ). The fields , open downs and riverside pastures of the Coln Valley are the very essence of the Central Cotswolds landscape . So , we left the summer crowds at Bibury for a couple of hours of gently undulating exploration . And to reward ourselves for this beautiful walk , we had lunch , with those who wanted it , at The Catherine Wheel .
These walks are an opportunity to discover the wonderful landscape that surrounds us and to clear your mind in an exceptional setting . But it ’ s much more than that ! It is also an opportunity to meet new people and create friendly relationships .
So , do not hesitate to join us ! No equipment needed , just sturdy boots !
the contrast with the fields which are still green , will take your breath away . It was truly an invite for us to . immediately to take the first fantastic photographs .
Then we shared the food , sitting comfortably on the wooden tables that are in the lavender fields , and chatted abundantly before carrying on the tour through the fields .
Since the sight and the smell had already had their part , why not give a moment of pleasure to the taste ? And then a last stop at the delicious shop made us discover many lavender products : chocolate , candy , and creams .
What can I say ? Lavender chocolate was really a pleasant and wonderful discovery for all of us .
