EXERCISE CERBERUS ( 5 Sep – 22 Nov 22 )
Exercise CERBERUS 22 was a large-scale training event which saw elements of the 3rd ( UK ) Division conduct training to ensure that all personnel and teams are able to complete their roles in a warfighting situation . The 16 Air Assault Brigade Combat Team ( 16 AABCT ), 12 Armoured Brigade Combat Team ( 12 ABCT ), 7 Light Mechanised Brigade Combat Team ( 7 LMBCT ), 101 Operational Sustainment Brigade ( 101 Op Sust Bde ), and the 1st Aviation Brigade Combat Team ( 1 Avn BCT ) all tested elements of their forces in preparation for their certification to be held at varying degrees of readiness as part of a Warfighting Division .
1 ( UK ) Signals Brigade , through 16 Signal Regiment and 30 Signal Regiment , deployed to Sennelager and Delmenhorst in Germany to provide command support to the Op Sust Bde and Avn BCT in , the Th Sust Bde . This included delivering communications and information capabilities to various headquarter elements to enable them to have “ one foot on the ground ” whilst they
moved their headquarters and allowing everyone to stay connected to one another and the multitude of networks that they need to be able to fulfil their roles .
OPERATION LONDON BRIDGE ( 8 to 20 Sep 22 )
Operation LONDON BRIDGE is the name for the activities and preparations which take place in the event of the death of Her Majesty , Queen Elizabeth II . It was activated on the sad passing of Her Majesty the Queen on 08 September 22 . Personnel from 10 Sig Regt were involved in these preparations and activities by providing Communication and Information Services ( CIS ) for all parts of the formal and ceremonial activity that followed , concluding with the state funeral on 19 September 22 . Away from the ceremonial side , the Brigade also provided coach drivers and other personnel to provide security and stewarding as required . A total of 517 personnel from the Brigade were committed over the course of the operation and events .
EXERCISE JOINT PROTECTOR 22 ( 4 Oct to 20 Nov 22 )
Ex JOINT PROTECTOR 22 was a UK-led , overseas training exercise , which focussed on the Joint Expeditionary Force ( JEF ). The JEF is a multinational fighting force , led by the UK and comprising of elements from Denmark , Estonia , Finland , Iceland , Latvia , Lithuania , Sweden , Norway , and the Netherlands . Its purpose is to maintain an adaptable , high-readiness capability able to respond rapidly , anywhere in the world . Ex JOINT PROTECTOR 22 enabled Standing Joint Force Headquarters Group ( SJFHQ Gp ) to train force elements to be able to operate together in different scenarios . Two squadrons from 30 Signal Regiment deployed to Nymindegab in Denmark to provide information and communications systems which enabled SJFHQ and SJF Logistics Component ( SJF Log C ) to conduct a Command Post exercise ( CPX ). This represented a valuable opportunity to deploy these capabilities overseas , building experience and skills within the squadrons which will prove valuable for future deployments to Europe .

On Thursday 24 November 2022 , 1 ( UK ) Signal Brigade Boxing Championships took place at Imjin Barracks in the Station Gymnasium . Commanding Officers and Regimental Sergeant Majors across the Bde as well as Other Ranks and JNCOs showing their full support by spectating and cheering at these Championships . This provided an opportunity to identify future talent for both Corps and Army Boxing Teams from across ten bouts .
The scoring of the Inter-Unit Competition was drawn from eight boxers from each unit who competed at the finals . 30 Signal Regiment came out on top with a total of five boxers out of eight winning their bouts , followed by Gurkha ARRC Support Battalion with second place who had three wins . In third place was 22 Signal Regiment followed by 16 Signal Regiment .
