Tewkesbury Abbey guided tour

Cheltenham hosts a memorable

Pub Golf & Treasure Hunt Extravaganza

Jelena Anisimenko
Cheltenham witnessed an unforgettable day of fun and laughter as 24 participants from various nations came together for a unique Pub Golf & Treasure Hunt event . Organised with a blend of creativity and camaraderie , the event proved to be a delightful adventure for all Pub Golfers .
The event kicked off in the heart of Cheltenham , where participants were given poetic clues leading them to different pubs around town . The journey was not just about finding the next location ; it was also about experiencing the charm of Cheltenham and bonding with fellow participants through a series of entertaining tasks .
The participants were divided into small groups , each tasked with deciphering the rhyming clues that led them to the next destination . From “ a place where Copa ’ s lore ” to “ a haven where planets gleam ,” the crafted hints added an element of mystery and excitement to the journey .
Despite a minor hiccup where groups converged due to a mix-up in the clues , the incident only served to heighten the fun . Jokes about the organiser ’ s mishap flew around , contributing to the good-natured spirit of the event .
As they navigated the route , the groups were also challenged to take themed photos and post them on the group chat . Themes like “ Young Again ” and “ Touch the Sky ” brought out the creativity and playful side of the participants . From recreating childhood poses to imaginative leaps aiming for the sky , the photos captured the joyous essence of the day .
The event saw an impressive turnout of 24 participants , each bringing their unique cultural flair to the mix . It was a beautiful representation of HQ ARRC ’ s inclusive spirit , with people from different nations coming together to celebrate community and friendship . The Pub Golf & Treasure Hunt highlighted how a little creativity , a touch of humour , and a lot of camaraderie can turn a simple gathering into an extraordinary experience . Here ’ s to more such events that bring people together and create lasting memories !

Tewkesbury Abbey guided tour

Alexandra Charton
On the 17th of May , we had the fantastic opportunity to discover Tewkesbury Abbey with an official guide Gareth .
Despite of the organisation of an evening event on the same day , Wendy Woodley , the tour administrator , allowed this visit . I really thank her .
Gareth was such an interesting guide , telling us the History of this unique church , the different steps of its building , the mixed of the Norman and Gothic styles , and obviously the main characters who took part of its evolution .
We also discovered the cloister ruins and the Lady chapel foundations .
Not only was this visit incredibly exciting , but it was also a fabulous time of ASC cohesion .
The cherry on the cake was a beautiful sunshine in the sky !
After having so much spiritual food , we came through the shop and enjoyed some scone and tea at the Touching Souls Tea Room .
I thank all the participants and the team of the Abbey for giving their time and making this event so nice .
Hope our next visit “ Thatcher ’ s : the family cider maker ” planned on the 12th of June will have the same success !!
