Rain, rain, go away June 2015 was one of the rainiest months on record in Essex County. Between May 30 and June 28, the city was drenched with almost 300 mm of rain. Besides the risk to local crops - some fields are flooded, and other farmers are struggling to reseed - all that water can take its toll on residential properties. The City of Windsor makes improvements annually to the complex system of underground pipes, sewers and catch basins. However, these improvements alone cannot completely protect a home from basement flooding. You may be eligible for the city’s Basement Flooding Protection Subsidy Program (BFP).
