Alice in Wonderland What are auditions like? Actors are very anxious and work in groups to nail their scenes. Mr. Lebovitz encourages the them to be open and flexible with their acting so as to push them to a new levels. And not one person is the same. They all take a new stance on each role with no preconceptions or halts. Everyone gives it 110%. Overall, people giggle and have a good time making it a memorable experience you’ll want to try. Interviews with Mr. LebovitzWhy did you choose this theme? -It’s a classic text that can teach students. What do you have to do to prepare for the play? -Actors rehearse for 2 months learning their character meanwhile, the behind the scenes crew works on props and costumes. What are you looking for in an actor? -Someone who is passionate and purposeful that can capture the audience. What Are Rehearsals Like? Depending on the play, every rehearsal is different. Actors do the obvious and run their lines or go over scenes. But on top of that, work needs to be done everywhere like costume, decorations, and tech. Time management is key. They need as much time as they can get so students will have an annual lock-in where they bond, rehearse, and prepare.
