LEAP OF By Jerry Hostetler Habitat for Humanity International was founded in Americus, Georgia by Millard Fuller and his wife Linda in 1976. The nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and to making decent housing a matter of conscience and action. Habitat partners with people in need throughout the world as it helps to build simple, decent shelter that is then sold to partner families at no profit through no-interest loans. Mont Arnold, Executive Director of the LaGrange County Habitat for Humanity (LCHFH), has been involved with the LCHFH since its inception.
