November ‘13 · The Hometown Treasure The Shipshewana Area Historical Society (SAHS) recently received a grant from the LaGrange County Community Foundation. The grant money was used to publish booklets that give a short summary of the county’s history. The booklets were distributed during history presentations to fourth grade classes in LaGrange County. The SAHS will close its building on November 1 and will reopen April 1, 2014. Tours may be scheduled while the building is closed by calling Janet Schrock at 260-768-4637, Roberta Markley at 260-768-4596 or Sharon Bowen at 260-768-4777. The SAHS will meet on Monday, November 18, in the Farver School building in Shipshewana. Doors will open at 6 pm. The public is invited to attend. 53
