Topeka Happy Workers & Mini Helpers Topeka Happy Workers and Mini Helpers is a LaGrange County 4-H club open to youth first grade through twelfth grade interested in participating in 4-H activities. Not pictured: Jeana & Courtney Beechy refreshment coordinators Topeka Elementary During the month of March, Topeka Fourth Graders were whisked away on an imaginary journey with "Captain Cash." The presenter, John Emerson of the Lagrange County Extension Services, presented four separate sessions to help increase the student’s awareness of the economy and aspects of money. Topics included, ways people earn, spend, and save money, which helped the students evaluate needs and wants. Photos submitted by Topeka Elementary Topeka Elementary third grade students participated in a scavenger hunt around the town of Topeka on Monday, April 23, 2012. They visited Topeka Pharmacy, People’s Bank, Farmers Bank, Town Hall, Tiffany’s, Savea-Lot, Snax-n-Pax, and the Do-ItBest Hardware. The students were learning more about the history of the community. The students were also scientists as they had to design a container for a raw egg. The egg was dropped off the roof by owner JJ Egli of the Do-It-Best Hardware.
