Nate and Nic Raber Twin brothers, Nate and Nic Raber’s interest in 4-H was sparked by the involvement and interest in 4-H of their older brother, Joseph. Nic’s interest in animals and liking to be around them also played a big part in joining 4-H. Nate and Nic followed in their brother’s footsteps. The Raber family has enjoyed an eight-year reign as Grand Champion in the poultry field. Nate and Nic have entered sheep, hogs, turkeys, geese, quail and pigeons over the years. One of Nic’s fondest memories of 4-H was winning First Year Show- Count y4 nge ra -H Count y4 nge ra 2 013 pg 18 · The Hometown Treasure · July ‘13 manship with his pig when he was in fourth grade. They agreed that hanging out with friends during the week of the fair, playing video games in the camper, water fights and getting to know a lot of people that they wouldn’t have met had it not been for their involvement with 4-H, were all great memories that they’ll take away from their ten years of involvement in 4-H. Nate and Nic both plan to attend Indiana Wesleyan University next year. Nate will be majoring in education and Nic will be seeking a medical degree. *Parker Fought and Randi Schrock were
