The cabin in Wildflower Woods lies
nestled in 123 acres of fields, woods, and
formal gardens along the shores of Sylvan
Lake, near Rome City, Indiana. It is the
former home of Gene Stratton-Porter,
the author of A Girl of the Limberlost a
popular book for children and adults for
104 years. She also wrote The Song of
the Cardinal, The Harvester, Freckles,
A Daughter of the Land a total of 27
books, all excellent books to read. Very
captivating, once you start reading it is
hard to put it down. Most of her books
are available in the site Gift Shop.

Westview FFA Wins State Event
The Westview FFA team of Nelson
Grate, Reed Oesch, Parker Fought and
Ryan Wisler competed in the 17 team
finals of the State FFA Agriculture
Mechanic Contest at the recently held
State FFA Convention on Monday,
June 17th.
The team members had to demonstrate proficiency in mathematical
calculations and estimates, electrical
wiring of 3-way switches, multi-position arc welding, small engine mainte-
nance and adjustments, PVC plumbing
and sprayer calibration.
The team’s placing was high
enough for each member to earn
$10,000 scholarships to Northwestern University of Ohio. The team was
coached by their FFA Advisor, Paul
Baker.
