Steider just completed her freshman year toward a Bachelor’s of Science degree in nursing and will use the $500 award toward her continuing studies. Steider’s career plans include permanent residency as a surgical nurse in this area. Marty Hayward is the daughter of the late Margaret Martin, who created the endowment for the HOPE scholarship at the Community Foundation twelve years ago to encourage students of all ages with healthcare experience to pursue a career in nursing. Retired Westview Teacher Honored Retired Westview teacher, Dennis Sewell, has been honored by the Indiana Retired Teachers Association for his community service for the year 2011. Mr. Sewell volunteered in Mrs. Kramer’s classroom at Topeka Elementary School twice a week. He also volunteered at the Parkview LaGrange Hospital.
