Westview strives to promote and acknowledge students doing more than what was expected of them. Scott Huser was chosen because, “he is a young man who gives his best efforts to whatever he does. He is a good example to others and his leadership is appreciated.” Xander Laughlin was chosen “due to his interest in foreign language and his ability to contribute information about yet another foreign culture, Russia. His conscientious work ethic means that he gets near perfect scores on almost all of his German homework.” Michelle Yoder is “… a pleasant and polite young lady who serves others and provides an excellent example of being a fine student. She works as a peer tutor and tries her hardest to help others learn and succeed. Her sense of humor and kind heart make her an asset to our classroom.” Brooke Schwartz was chosen because “she reported a classmate that was being bullied at his locker. I really commend her for this because it takes a lot of courage and maturity to do this. Therefore, I think that the problem has been resolved. I really appreciate the fact that Brooke was able to do this.”
