ur family is doing well. God
continues to do a work in us.
And that is good. Cultural differences and language barriers
sometimes frustrate, but always in that
very difference there is opportunity to depend more fully on Him. Melisa Gomez is
a friend and missionary from Honduras.
She shared a more painful opportunity
through the following blog post.

pm is a time forever in my heart, a time I
will never forget.
My co-worker, Daisy, and I went to visit
Mercedita, having heard she was very sick.
Her son, Daniel, is one of my preschool students. Daisy worked closely with Mercedita
at the social work ministry site.
As soon as we arrived we realized Mercedita did not have many days left to live on
this earth. She recognized us and called us
both by name. We prayed for her and simply
stayed by her side. “The Lord wants to take
me,” she said. I sat on her bed speechless.
Not knowing how to respond, we continued
to pray.
About an hour later her condition
worsened. Daisy, myself, and a sister in-law
of Mercedita [repositioned] her until she was
more comfortable. The others left the room
to give her time to rest but for some reason
I stayed. Daisy and I had prayed for either
complete healing or for God to simply take
her home. I begged God for a miracle and
yesterday Mercedita’s miracle arrived. As I
watched her take her last breath I knew she
