For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. What does the apostle Paul mean by another Jesus, or another spirit or another gospel? He explains in: Gal. 1:6, 7 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. Plainly stated he is saying that if you change the gospel you have perverted it and made it a different gospel or message than the one God gave us. Jesus, Himself warns us of the consequences of this treachery. Mt 7:22, 23 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work Another Jesus? iniquity. There is a gospel that is popular today because it allows people to remain in their sins.
