Westview High School has selected eleven students to receive “Student
Ambassador of the Month” honors for December. These outstanding students
were selected by their teachers. Westview strives to promote and acknowledge
students doing more than what was expected of them.
Lewton Joins Century Club
Austin Lewton recently picked
up his 100th career win as a varsity
wrestler for the Warriors. He joins a
short list of only six Warriors to reach
this level over the schools history.
Austin has wrestled for the varsity all
four years of high school. This year as
a senior he is a team captain, wrestling
in the competitive 138 pound weight
class. His record for the year is 31-5.
He has seen a lot of success over the
last four years, but according to him, it
didn’t come without a lot of hard work
and dedication during, and outside
of, the wrestling season. Lewton’s
coaches Joel Pippenger, Erin Misner,
and Willie Bontrager have been great
role models to Austin during his years
at Westview, teaching him the sport of
wrestling and the value of hard work
and perseverance.
Lewton’s high school wrestling
career put him as a three-time regional
qualifier, a semi-state qualifier and a
two-time Westview Invitational champion. He has had a total of 103 career
wins and 44 varsity pins.
