Topics covered include everything from planning , plot finding , finance management , design , homebuilding , extensions , renovating , sustainable materials to energy efficient construction .

Consultations last 15 minutes and must be booked on the day from 9am - there will be an option to book at the Advice Centre , but book online to avoid disappointment . All visitors who expressed an interest in Advice Centre appointments when registering will have received an email with online booking instructions .
Allan Corfield
Allan is a Chartered Architect who runs a specialist UK wide Custom & Self Build Architectural practice . Allan is one of the leading experts in the UK in modern methods of construction including SIPs & ICF . He regularly contributes to Homebuilding & Renovating Magazine and is a self-build expert delivering various talks at the shows across the UK . Allan ’ s goal is to provide you , as a prospective self-builder , with the inspiration , support and education you require to build your cost effective , energy efficient , dream home .
Bob Branscombe
Bob is one of the UK ’ s leading Chartered Surveyors and with over 30 years ’ experience in both self-build and construction , he still harnesses a long time obsession with hands on self-building . A career spent with several main contractors and major UK name surveying consultancies has helped reinforce his approach that cost-estimating and control are a fundamental tenet of self-building , and the benefits of cost certainty are a common theme in his approach to any project .
David Hilton
David is the Director of Heat and Energy Ltd , and has over 35 years ’ experience in the eco industry . He holds a Masters degree in Sustainable Architecture and is a regular contributor to Homebuilding & Renovating Magazine . David has had a long term interest in the performance of building fabrics as well as the development of building methods that complement the local environment and the intended lifestye patterns of the occupants , combined with the sensitive use of appropriate renewable and conventional heat and energy systems .
