2020 KORN FERRY TOUR QUALIFYING TOURNAMENT
The Korn Ferry Tour is one of the ways
professional golfers can make it to the PGA
TOUR. There were a number of IJGA alumni who
attempted to qualify for the 2020 Korn Ferry
Tour. The qualifying is conducted in four stages
- Pre-Qualifying, First, Second and Final. There
were six alumni who made it to the final stage of
2020 qualifying, including: Patrick Flavin, Jordan
Hahn, Nick Hardy, Brad Hopfinger, Andy Pope,
and Vince India. Some of the other individuals
who attempted to qualify include: Josh Esler,
Chris French, Tee-K Kelly, Kyle Kochevar, Charlie
Netzel, Brian Ohr, Raymond Knoll, Daniel
Hudson, Jeff Kellen, and Kyle Slattery. Hahn was
the only IJGA alumni to have made it through
the first three rounds, having played in Pre-
Qualifying, the First Stage and the Second Stage
in order to advance to the Final Stage. The 2020
Korn Ferry Tour Final Stage Qualifying begins
on December 12, 2019 and the final round will
be contested on December 15, 2019.
Kim Manages LPGA Star
IJGA alumna Jennifer Kim was working at the
Golf Center just north of Chicago when she
met Inbee Park’s husband. Later that week she
ran into him again at the KPMG Women’s PGA
Championship. He introduced Kim to his friend
who worked for the Korean talent agency Bravo
and New. He asked her to send over her resume,
a month later his team reached out to her asking
if she was serious about working with them. Kim
became the personal manager for Jeongeun
Lee6, who was poised to start her rookie year
on the LPGA Tour. Kim, who is bilingual, travels
with Lee6 and was with her when she won the
the 2019 U.S. Women’s Open at the Country
Club of Charleston. Their next goal is to play in
the upcoming Summer Olympics.
