EAST LAKE CUP
The Fighting Illini Men’s Golf Team finished
up their fall season during the final round of
the East Lake Cup. As a team, the Illini got off
to an early lead during Wednesday’s round
with IJGA alumnus Brendan O’Reilly putting
himself ahead in his match from the start.
O’Reilly battled with Vanerbilt’s Harrison Ott
throughout the match as Ott squared things up
on the fourth hole before taking the lead at the
turn. O’Reilly fought back to bring the match to
all square before falling to Ott who finished the
match 1-up. Fellow IJGA alumnus Nick Hardy
halved his match for the Illini. After starting off
the match behind, Hardy fought back to square
his match on the 15th hole, but was unable to
finish the match because the team result was
already determined for the Illini.
