ALUMNI IN THE HEADLINES
Patrick Flavin
Makes History
IJGA Alumnus Patrick Flavin became
the second player in history to win not
only the Illinois Open title but also the
Illinois Amateur in one calendar year.
Flavin out lasted fellow IJGA alumni
Nick Hardy and Matt Murlick to earn
his victory by one stroke at the Illinois
Open after taking an early lead.
The top of the leaderboard at the
Illinois State Amateur was also stacked
with IJGA alumni, including Jordan
Hahn, Charlie Netzel, David Perkins
and Trent Wallace. Not only did Hahn
take second, he also set the record
low round at the Illinois State Amateur
and the Calumet Country Club course
record with a 9-under-par 61 during
the second round.
After concluding his historical summer,
Flavin entered his final season at
the University of Miami (Ohio) with
an individual win at the Wolf Run
Intercollegiate. This was his fifth career
collegiate win.
