QUALIFYING FOR POY HOW TO GET INIVTED TO THE PLAYER OF THE YEAR CHAMPIONSHIP T he summer season is here and that means it is time to start thinking about what you need to do to qualify for the end of summer Player of the Year Championship. There are two age divisions for the YDP POY Championship and each division has their own requirements to qualify for the event. The 12- 13 Divisions will play a two-day, 36 hole event, while the 10-11 Divisions will play a single-day 18 hole event on the final day of the 12-13 Division event. In order to qualify in the 12-13 Division the player must have played in at least three Player of the Year Point awarding events and be in the top 50 eligible from the Boys POY Points List or top 30 Girls POY Points list. The following events are not point awarding: DCJC, Parent/Junior, 9-Hole Leagues, Night Golf, Mentor Scramble, YDP Team Events, and ISJA and CEJA Qualifiers. In the 10-11 Division, you must have played in at least three qualifying events (18 or 36 hole events) and have finished in the top 3 in any 18 or 36 hole event for Boys or top 2 in any 18 or 36 hole event for Girls.
