QUALIFYING FOR POY
HOW TO GET INIVTED TO THE
PLAYER OF THE YEAR CHAMPIONSHIP
T
he summer season is here and that means it is
time to start thinking about what you need to do
to qualify for the end of summer Player of the Year
Championship. There are two age divisions for the
YDP POY Championship and each division has their
own requirements to qualify for the event. The 12-
13 Divisions will play a two-day, 36 hole event, while
the 10-11 Divisions will play a single-day 18 hole
event on the final day of the 12-13 Division event.
In order to qualify in the 12-13 Division the player
must have played in at least three Player of the
Year Point awarding events and be in the top 50
eligible from the Boys POY Points List or top 30 Girls
POY Points list. The following events are not point
awarding: DCJC, Parent/Junior, 9-Hole Leagues,
Night Golf, Mentor Scramble, YDP Team Events, and
ISJA and CEJA Qualifiers.
In the 10-11 Division, you must have played in at
least three qualifying events (18 or 36 hole events)
and have finished in the top 3 in any 18 or 36 hole
event for Boys or top 2 in any 18 or 36 hole event
for Girls.
This is an invitation-only event that will take place
August 7-8, 2017, at Randall Oaks Golf Club.
