MENTOR SCRAMBLE

This is a team event where YDP members will be put into teams to play in a 9-hole scramble on the front 9 of the Par 3 course at The Valley Lo Club. Each team of YDP members will be assigned an IJGA“ Alum” or member of the IJGA Playing Member Division to serve as their“ mentor”.

9 & 18 Hole Formats

Perhaps you are just beginning competitive golf, you are not yet comfortable playing a full 18-hole round, or you want to fine tune your skills, the Youth Development Program allows a player to choose between 9- and 18-hole events. These events are great opportunities for golfers of all skill levels.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR

The players who have excelled over the summer are recognized by being invited to play in the end-of-summer Player of the Year Championship. The 12-13 year olds play a two-day, 36-hole event, while the 10-11 year olds play a one-day, 18-hole event. Learn more about qualifying for the POY Championship in our Policies.

Junior Elite events

These events are designed to give junior golfers ages 10-15 a way to prepare for longer yardages and multi-day course set ups. These are great events for a player to participate in if they are preparing to play in the Players Challenges as a Playing Member, or want to play in the MAJGT later in their junior golf career.
