‘ America ’ s Got Talent ’ finalist Sal Valentinetti coming to Kathedral

HAMMONTON — Crooner Sal “ The Voice ” Valentinetti is slated to perform at the Kathedral Event Center on Dec . 15 at 8 p . m . In his show titled “ Sal Valentinetti : Christmas Comes to Town ,” the two-time Grammy-nominated singer , who was the recipient of Heidi Klum ’ s golden buzzer and finalist on season 11 of “ America ’ s Got Talent ( AGT ),” will play an evening full of classic Christmas songs in his notorious calm and smooth vocal style .
A singer who draws inspiration from the sounds of Dean Martin ,
Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra , Valentinetti ’ s stop in Hammonton is one of 10 upcoming shows that have been announced . His first performance kicked off on Nov . 30 at The Paramount in Huntington , N . Y ., and the last will wrap up at the Robbins Theatre in Warren , Ohio , on Feb . 10 .
This is not the first time Valentinetti has performed at the Kathedral . He first performed in Hammonton with the same show last year on Dec . 18 , a process that Kathedral Executive Director Max Rodio said was a few months in the making .
“ We had a promoter that we ’ ve worked with on other shows , reach out and pitch Sal ’ s Christmas show to us ,” Rodio said . “ Last year ’ s [ show ] was probably about a four to six month process of figuring everything out . This year was a lot quicker since Sal has been with us before and he was happy to return for a second time .”
Valentinetti ’ s presence in Hammonton is one by someone with a larger celebrity status , bringing in travelers from all over the region .
“ Bringing in a name like Sal , he draws from far and wide , as we ’ ve seen in our ticket sales ,”

Rodio said .
His first AGT audition , in which he did his own cover of the iconic Sinatra song “ My Way ,” has gained over 450 million views worldwide . He has also performed with Klum at Madison Square Garden in New York City and opened for comedian Jay Leno in Las Vegas .
With so many new people commuting to Hammonton to see Valentinetti and various other artists perform at the Kathedral , Rodio is happy his efforts are helping to redefine the town into an arts and entertainment destination .
“ I definitely think having a bigger name like him , among other acts , draws people downtown . They ’ re going to go out to eat before the show and check out the shops ,” Rodio said . “ So it ’ s just continuing to add to the marquee value here in Hammonton .”

With “ Sal Valentinetti : Christmas Comes to Town ” set to take place in a little over a week , Rodio can ’ t wait for Valentinetti to make his return to the Kathedral , serenading the crowd in Hammonton with a setlist of traditional holiday tunes .
“ I ’ m definitely excited to have him return . He ’ s a really talented guy and I thoroughly enjoyed the show last year , and so did the crowd . We ’ re looking to close out our holiday season with such a magical show ,” Rodio said .
