Bruce DeMarco , 68 , of Atlantic City , N . J . and formerly of Hammonton passed away at AtlantiCare in Atlantic City , N . J . on Monday November 20 , 2023 , from injuries sustained in a fall at his residence . He was born and raised in Hammonton where he graduated from Hammonton High School and also the Wharton School of Business at University of Pennsylvania . Bruce was an information technology expert , and worked at many casino and hotel properties both in the US and the Bahamas .

Bruce is predeceased by his parents , Carmen and

Mary DeMarco ; and his brother , Carmen Charles DeMarco Jr , also known as Chuckie . He is survived by his sister , Cheryl DeMarco of Lancaster Pa .; and his nieces , Amy DeCicco of Brooklyn NY , married to Jay Carlson ; and Judi DeCicco of Seattle , Washington , married to Ben Huff ; as well as many cousins .

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Saturday December 2 , 2023 from 9 a . m . – 10 a . m . at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N . Third Street Hammonton , N . J . Services will be held at 10 a . m . at the funeral home , followed by a private burial . While Bruce ’ s life over the last decades has been turbulent , we hope to share stories and celebrate the smart , funny person he was before alcohol addiction took all of that away . Linda L . DeCicco

Linda L . DeCicco ( nee Seals ), 75 , of Hammonton , N . J . passed away Thursday November 23 , 2023 at her home . Linda was born and raised in Hammonton and graduated from Hammonton High School in 1966 . She went on to become a Lab Technician and worked for William B . Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton for over 30 years . She was an active Marching Band Parent of Hammonton High School from 1991 – 1998 , where she was like a second mom to so many kids . Linda enjoyed gardening , tending to her indoor plants , reading a good book and watching the Science Channel . You could always count on Linda to tell you how to save a dying plant , or fill you in on the newest scientific discovery .

Linda is predeceased by her parents , Harold and Lillian Seals ( nee Driscoll ); and her sister , Betty Jane Anderson ( nee Martin ). She is survived by her daughter , Cookie S . Velazquez and her husband Donny ; sons , Mickey and Chuck DeCicco and his wife Stephanie all of Hammonton , N . J .; and her brother , Houston Seals of Georgia . She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren , Raven and Luna Velazquez and Emily and Lucas DeCicco .

HPD makes seven DUI arrests

HAMMONTON — The Hammonton Police Department made seven driving under the influence ( DUI ) arrests over the weekend , according to Hammonton Police Chief Kevin Friel .

Christoper Buck , 62 , of Hammonton , was arrested by Officer Travis Hoffman in the 800 block of 12th Street on Nov . 20 at 11:42 p . m .

Buck was charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance ( CDS ), drug paraphernalia , DUI , careless and reckless driving and open container in a motor vehicle .

Buck was released , pending court appearance at Hammonton Joint Municipal Court ( HJMC ).

Herbert Storey , 61 , of Hammonton , was arrested by Officer Matthew Heiser in the 500 block of N . Egg Harbor Road on Nov . 23 at 12:01 a . m .

Storey was charged with DUI , careless and reckless driving and failure to maintain lane of travel .

Storey was released , pending court appearance at HJMC .

Jaime Penna , 47 , of Margate , was arrested by Corporal Kyle Ambrozaitis in 12th Street near the Atlantic City Expressway on Nov . 23 at 3:50 a . m .

Penna was charged with DUI , driving while suspended , careless and reckless driving and open container of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle .

Penna was released , pending court appearance at HJMC .

Govan Ongoro , 35 , of Lindenwold , was arrested by Officer Alexandra Mardell at Route 206 and U . S . 30 on Nov . 25 at 11:37 p . m .

Ongoro was charged with possession of CDS-cocaine , drug paraphernalia , improper left hand turn , open container of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle and DUI .

Ongoro was released , pending court appearance at Atlantic County Superior Court .

Francisco Echevarria , 26 , of Egg Harbor City , was arrested by Hoffman in the 400 block of S . First Road on Nov . 26 at 12:10 a . m .

Louis M . Conte

Louis M . Conte , 100 , of Melbourne , Fla . and formerly of Elmtowne Winslow Twp . N . J . passed away peacefully on Monday November 20 , 2023 at Inspira Hospital in Elmer , N . J . Louis was born and raised in Camden , N . J . After graduation Louis served in the U . S Army during World War II and completed his Associates Degree at Washington University in St . Louis . Following his discharge from the service he worked for RCA in Camden , NJ for over 36 years as their Quality Control Manager retiring in 1982 . He loved to read , gardening and watch the Eagles and his favorite Phillies .

He is predeceased by his loving wife , Kathryn R . Conte ( nee Attore ); parents , Joseph and Victoria Conte ( nee Monforte ); brothers , Pat and Anthony Conte ; and sister , Ann DeVore . Louis is survived by his three sons , Joseph and his wife Tricia of Upper Pittsgrove , N . J ., Richard of Landisville , N . J ., and Donald and his wife Angela of Elkton , Md ; his brother , Salvatore Conte and his wife Antoinette ; and sisters , Phyllis Gates , Delores Pepperess and Diane DePetris ( John ). He will be sadly missed by his seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren .

Relatives and friends were invited to attend his church viewing Monday November 27 , 2023 from 9:30 a . m . – 11 a . m . at St . Mary of Mt . Carmel Parish – St .
