Michael W . Passamante Jr .

Michael W . Passamante Jr ., 56 , of Williamstown , died on Tuesday , November 15 , 2016 , at his home .

Born in Philadelphia , Pa ., he was a longtime resident of Collings Lakes . Mr . Passamante served in the U . S . Navy . He had previously worked at Lenox China in Pomona .

He is survived by his father , Michael W . Passamante Sr . ( Susan ) of Collings Lakes ; his mother , Martha L . Ellison ( Frank Jr .) of Cinnaminson ; two brothers , Brian Passamante ( Deana ) of Collings Lakes , Frank D . Ellison ( Kate ) of Cinnaminson ; two sisters , Gina Ford ( Jim ) of Hammonton , Martha Reynolds ( Scott ) of Basking Ridge ; his uncle , William Passamante of Collings Lakes and several nieces and nephews .

Family and friends attended a graveside service on Monday , November 21 , 2016 , at Greenmount Cemetery , 124 S . First Road in Hammonton .

Carmen Bartolone

Carmen Bartolone , 89 , of Hammonton , died on Sunday , November 13 , 2016 , at AtlantiCare Medical center in Galloway .

Born and raised in Hammonton , he served as a Corporal in the U . S . Army during World War II . He was part owner of Bartolone Farms , Owner of Carmen ’ s Cold Cuts in Bellmawr and established C & C Fuel Co . LLC in 1968 . Carmen also drove a school bus for the Hammonton Board of Education for more than 10 years . He was a member of the St . Joseph Holy Name Society .

Carmen was predeceased by his loving wife , Josephine ( nee Falco ); brothers , Frank , Joseph and William Bartolone , and sister , Anna Matro . He is survived by his son , Carmen Bartolone ; daughter , Louise Ingemi and her husband , Matt all of Hammonton ; grandchildren , Carmen , Brittany and Cindy Bartolone , Matthew C .

Ingemi and his wife , Lauren , and Gabriella Ingemi and her fiancé , Michael Barone .

Family and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday , November 18 at St . Mary of Mt . Carmel Parish – St . Joseph Church , Third and French streets , Hammonton , NJ . Burial was in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery , 124 S . First Rd ., Hammonton , NJ .

Edward E . Lamson Jr .

Edward E . Lamson Jr ., 29 , of Hammonton , died on Monday , November 14 , 2016 .

Born in Stuart , Fla ., he was attending Pennco Tech studying to be an auto mechanic . Eddie graduated from Hammonton High School in 2005 where he bowled and played baseball and continued at Burlington County College . Eddie had a passion for baseball , where he won MVP two times at Disney ’ s Wide World of Sports at the age of 10 and 11 . He was a star pitcher for the Young Guns in Florida . He pitched numerous no hitters and had a pick off move second to none . He continued with his success in baseball , receiving a scholarship to Burlington County College . Eddie had a huge heart and loved making people laugh . He would make friends wherever he went and always left a lasting impression on everyone . Eddie was a true Florida boy at heart and absolutely loved to surf . He would also love doing back flips any chance he had .

Eddie is survived by his mother , Colleen Lamson and April Alotto of Hammonton ; father , Edward E . Lamson Sr . of Palm City , Fla .; brother , Scott Lamson ; sisters , Kristen Domenico ( Vincent ) and Sara Alotto all of Hammonton ; niece and nephew , Gabrielle and Vincent Domenico Jr .; grandmother , JoAnn Alotto ; great-aunt , Joyce Lamson and many aunts , uncles and cousins . Family and friends attended Funeral Services on Monday , November 21 at Marinella Funeral Home , 102 Third Street , Hammonton , NJ . Entombment followed in Greenmount Cemetery , 124 S . Application at zoning board postponed

HAMMONTON — The Zoning Board of Adjustment honored an applicant ’ s request to postpone a hearing for a use variance application until its December 22 meeting .

Virginia and Marc Pyontek were seeking a use variance to permit to add an efficiency apartment to an existing two-apartment dwelling for Block 2502 , Lot 4 , Zone DT-3 at 600 12th St .

Because use variance permit requests require a super majority vote to be approved , and because four board members were absent from the meeting , Pyontek would have

Nicholas Paul Boychuck

Nicholas Paul Boychuck , 38 , of Williamstown , died suddenly on November 18 , 2016 . Born in Stratford , he grew up in Hammonton before moving to Williamstown . Nick was a graduate of Hammonton High School . He enjoyed riding quads , NASCAR , hunting , off-roading and was an avid Giants football fan .

Nicholas is survived by his parents , Valerie Boychuck ( Ron Dorney ) and Kostanty Boychuck ; his brothers , Jeffrey Boychuck ( Tamara ), Stephen Boychuck ( Danielle ) and John Weatherhead ; his grandmothers , Josephine Verrecchio and Jeanette Kostic , and his cats , Gray and Blue .

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday , November 23 from 1 p . m . – 3 p . m . at the Farnelli Funeral Home , 504 N . Main Street , Williamstown , NJ , where a service will follow at 3 p . m .

Edwin Joseph Marrero Jr .

Edwin Joseph Marrero Jr ., 32 , of Hammonton , died on Sunday , Nov . 13 , 2016 , in Hamilton Township .

Born in Atlantic City , he was a lifelong area resident . He worked for Soprano ’ s Pizza and Ristorante in Hammonton .

Edwin is survived by his mother , Mirna Burchfield and her husband , Doyle of Hammonton ; his father , Edwin Marrero of Hammonton ; his sisters , Jasmine Marrero Ortiz and Carmen Marrero ; his two nieces , Kaylla Marrero , Aryana Lopez ; his nephew , Jimmy Lopez , and many aunts , uncles , cousins and friends .

Friends and family attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday , November 21 , 2016 , at St . Mary of Mt . Carmel Parish Church of St . Joseph ’ s , 226 French Street , Hammonton .

Stephen Axelrath

Stephen Axelrath , who lived in Hammonton in the 1950s , died of a heart attack on November 13 , 2016 , in Denver , Colo ., where he lived .

Steve was a member of the Hammonton High School Class of 1961 , whose 55th reunion he had just attended . He graduated from Glassboro State Teacher ’ s College ( now Rowan University ) and went on to earn a Master ’ s degree in Creative Writing from Colorado State University . Steve was a school Psychologist in the Jefferson County Public Schools ( a suburb of Denver ) for his entire working career . His avocation was genealogy , and he had recently published the history of his family in three volumes . Described by many as a gentle giant , his presence , humor , intelligence , love and support will be sorely missed by his family and friends .

He was predeceased by his parents , Samuel and Frances Axelrath , who lived on Middle Road . He is survived by his wife of 36 years , Ellen Silon ; his son , Sam Axelrath ; his daughter , Sarah Axelrath , all of Denver , and by his sister , Hilda Shelupsky of New York City .

The property , located on the corner of 12th Street and Monroe Avenue , is a two-story duplex in which Pyontek is attempting to add an efficiency apartment to the second story . Each unit in the property would contain one bedroom and would house one resident . The first story is a two-unit dwelling . Pyontek said the property belonged to his mother-in-law and was bequeathed to his wife in her mother ’ s will .

Pyontek told the board the house looks the same on the outside and you cannot tell whether it is a threedwelling property or two .

“ Physically , looking at the house , you won ’ t even know that it was three or two ( units ). We haven ’ t changed anything on the outside at all . It still looks the same as the original house that has been there See ZONING , Page 12

Gloria A . Taylor

Gloria A . ( nee DeLuca ) Taylor , 83 , of Nesco , died peacefully on Sunday , November 20 at her residence .

Born and raised in Hammonton , she lived in Nesco for 56 years . She formerly worked for the M . L . Ruberton Agency and the Twp of Fort Myers as a secretary .

Mrs . Taylor was predeceased by her husband , Jules Taylor and her daughterin-law , Annette L . Taylor . She is survived by her two sons , Bruce Taylor and his wife , Nora Jean of Galloway Twp ., and William Taylor of East Windsor ; her sisters , Paula Jacobs , Maria Marino , Elaine Fisher and her husband , Ron all of Hammonton ; her brother-in-law , Elmer Taylor of Pine Island , Fla .; her “ adopted sons ,” Rich Suglia and Jim Ferrante both of Port Republic ; her five grandchildren , Lindsey , Kyle , Benjamin , Morgan and Sidney , and several nieces and nephews .

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing which will be held on Wednesday , November 23 , 2016 , 9 a . m . - 10:30 a . m . at the Carnesale Funeral Home , 202 S . Third St ., Hammonton , followed by a Mass of Christian Burial , 11 a . m . in St . Mary of Mt . Carmel Parish Church of St . Anthony of Padua . Burial will be at the convenience of the family .
