Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 raises funds at Hammonton Applebee’s Wednesday, November 21, 2018 • The Hammonton Gazette • Page 3 APPLEBEE’S, from Page 1 drink sold at Applebee’s through the end of the month. Applebee’s is currently offering a special drink menu to promote what the restaurant is calling “fireman Appreciation Month.” The menu consists of several fire- fighting-themed beverages made with Tito’s Handmade Vodka, such as the firetini (Tito’s and dry vermouth garnished with green olives and a lemon twist), Tito’s Engine 99 (Tito’s red Apple schnapps, sour mix and apple juice) and more. “i asked Tito’s, because they’re one of our vendors, if they would be interested in helping us with our fundraiser and they were more than happy to donate a dollar per Tito’s drink for the whole month. They’re very good with charities,” Applebee’s Bar Manager Kathy Signiski said. Several members of fire Com- pany No. 1 attended the most re- cent “Dining to Donate” night on November 15—the third of four meet-and-greet nights, during which they assisted the staff by bringing food to tables, interacting with guests, many of which were friends, families and supporters of the company gathering for dinner to raise money. Hammonton Volunteer inde- pendent fire Company No. 1 was approached by Applebee’s man- agement about the fundraising op- portunity, which Signiski said is just as important to Applebee’s and its community outreach goal. “i think it’s really important for us to be involved in the commu- nity because without the commu- nity, we wouldn’t be here,” Signiski said. fire Company No. 1 President ron Mascola said Signiski and the staff of Applebee’s have been very accommodating during the process of organizing the “Dining to Donate” dates, which continue on Wednesday, November 21 and Thursday, November 29 (fire Company No. 1 members present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.). “She gave us all the nights we wanted. We asked for the night be- fore Thanksgiving, which is a killer night; we got it,” Mascola said.
