We really pushed the event, which included extended hours (9 a.m. to 9 p.m.), Santa Claus, a snow machine outside and merchandise discounts. Our audience showed up and it was a huge success. Small Business Saturday is a day to honor your favorite shops and help feed dollars right back into your local economy. the money spent at Behind the Moon stays right here in Hammonton. Me and my partners, Julie Wilson and Pat Lioy, are small business supporters through and through. this year we are planning to have Santa once again, along with some other great surprises. We are starting to promote the day and will be giving out a $5 off coupon to use on Small Business Saturday (with no restrictions) with any purchase made on Saturday, November 14 inviting customers to come back and see us on what will be an even bigger day than last year,” Sacco said. executive Director of the Hammonton Chamber of Commerce John runfolo knows how important events like Small Business Saturday are for the town and its consumers. “i don’t know the exact statistics, but small business drives everything in the economy. Small business employs a lot of people and supports families … Small business, with 20 employees, is huge for a town like ours, and, there are a lot of them. the vibrancy of our downtown and of the main corridors of the economy are the focuses. the Small Business Saturday does take focus downtown, but there are avenues like Golden feather, the Walmart shopping center, Blueberry Crossing and Peach tree Plaza, all these pockets where small business drive the economy … there’s no doubt people enjoy it. it’s like the old days where people walk around and everyone is floating around. all the businesses have specials going on. the businesses who participate always say that it’s a great day. it’s about the awareness, even if you don’t go out and shop that day, people know you’re there and they want your business.
