HaMMONtON—During its
meeting on October 22, town con-
flict solicitor Brian Howell sat in
for Michael Malinsky during the
meeting. Howell did not have a so-
licitor report to give, but he did al-
lude to an ordinance (No.
045-2018) that would be intro-
duced later in the meeting by title
only. Howell said the ordinance is
only proposing to revise a single
line within a previously approved
ordinance (No. 031-2018) that er-
roneously included a reference to
the town’s Gateway zoning Dis-
trict.
the line will now read: “all
zoning Districts of the town of
Hammonton except Downtown
zoning Districts (§175-154.4-
§175-154.7).”
a motion to approve the first
reading of Ordinance No. 045-
2018 was made by Councilman
Steven furgione, seconded by
Councilman Sam rodio and
passed unanimously.
in other business, frank zuber
reported the following personnel
items during the town clerk report.
(Motion to approve all items made
by Councilman Michael torrissi,
seconded by Councilman thomas
Gribbin and passed unanimously):
• accept the resignation of Chris

2018 with last day of employment

ports.
Water and Sewer Committee
(Councilman Steven Furgione):
the Water and Sewer Department
has been told it may proceed with
the concrete repair work taking
place on a clarifier tank at the
town’s Waste Water treatment

During the engineer report,
robert Vettese, of town engineer-
ing firm, adams, rehmann and
Heggan (arH) associates pro-
vided an update on a roadway
opening permit that was requested
last month for a section of Ninth

be resurfaced.
Vettese said the request was

mains along the southeasterly side
of Ninth Street to service to three

the road opening permit was is-
sued to Perna before the road was
resurfaced, so Vettese drafted an
agreement with him that acknowl-
edged that the town was not re-
sponsible for any installation,
maintenance or repair of Perna’s
force main because it is a private
line. Vettese asked for DiDonato to
sign the agreement after town so-
licitor Michael Malinsky finalizes
the wording. He also requested re-
plenishment of the review escrow
fee and signing of the agreement,
along with satisfying any and all
bills related to the application. a
corresponding motion was made
by furgione, seconded by Gribbin
and passed unanimously.
“We want to make sure this
agreement is buttoned up before
we start construction and have an
issue with the ‘he said, she said’
kind of thing,” furgione said.
after receiving council’s ap-
proval to write a letter to the New
Jersey Department of transporta-
tion (NJDOt) and the New Jersey
environmental infrastructure trust
(NJeit) regarding funding for var-
ious projects, Vettese said arH re-
ceived a response and was
instructed to fill out an application
with the assistance of zuber, de-
scribing the potential state-funded
projects in greater detail.
furgione said the matter will be
discussed further at the Public
Works and transportation & Water
and Sewer Committees’ next meet-
ing.
the following information items
were also listed on the meeting’s
agenda within Vettese’s report:
• arH completed all necessary
work in order to prepare for the on-
going bike path connector project
and is now only awaiting funding
from the NJDOt’s Bikeway Pro-
gram.
