James A. “Jack” Villari
James a. “Jack” Villari, age 88, of Hammonton died peacefully on
Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at home with his loving daughters by his
side.
Born in Philadelphia, he graduated from Southern High School in
South Philadelphia and continued his studies at LaSalle University. He
served as a medic in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was the
director of international Marketing for Service Star Corp. and frequently
traveled to South america, asia and the Middle east. He owned and op-
erated Selfcare Mediquip, inc. which he started in 1990 until 2013. He
was a past member of the Hammonton Chamber of Commerce and a
proud supporter of the Hammonton Men’s Softball League. Jack was an avid reader and
had an appreciation for music, and had the privilege of playing trumpet with the Buddy rich
Band.
Predeceased by his parents, Pasquale and Catherine Villari; wife, Gloria (nee formiglia);
his son, Pasquale “Packy” and two brothers, Dominic and Paul Villari. Surviving are his
three daughters, aria Mazer and Paula Hagelgans (Michael) both of Ventnor City, NJ and
Jacqueline Midili of Hammonton; loving grandfather of Carmen Midili, ericka Mazer, rac-
quel Mazer and Paula Maccagnano; great-grandfather of Stella Midili, alessio Midili and
enzo Maccagnano.
a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, October 29, 2018 at St. Mary of
Mt. Carmel Parish— St. Joseph Church. entombment, Oak Grove Cemetery. Donations

Augustino M. Bruno
augustino M. Bruno “Gus,” age 69, of Magnolia, N.J. died suddenly
on Monday, October 22, 2018 at his home.
Born in Philadelphia, he worked for the Philadelphia auto Mall and
most recently the assistant Parts Manager for Honda of turnersville. Be-
fore the resurgence of body art, Gus was intrigued by the various styles
of tattoos and took pride in the art work he displayed on himself.
He was predeceased by his parents, Girard and Viola Bruno. He is sur-
vived by his loving sister, Geraldine Bruno of elm. He will be missed by
many cousins and friends.

Jean Ellen Jones
Jean ellen Jones died peacefully on Saturday, October 20, 2018 in her
Hammonton residence.
She is predeceased by her parents, Dan and Jennie Salerno and her sis-
ter, Joan Olive. She is survived by her sister, ann Graf (Michigan City);
her children, Charles Jones and wife Maria, Hallie reese and fiancée
Doug Myers; her granddaughter, Maegan Kaczmarek and husband Chris
Kaczmarek and grandson, Kyle reese.
Jean spent her professional career involved in the arts. She obtained
her undergraduate degree from Moore College of art and took her talents
to New York City as a freelance artist where she created advertisements
for clothing and luxury goods, play bill designs, and other works, published in The NY Times
and other widespread print media. She returned to Hammonton in the late 1950’s to start
her family and pursued undergraduate and master’s degrees in education. She worked as a
first grade and art teacher at Hammonton elementary School and ultimately moved to Ham-
monton High School where she transformed the art department into the gem of South Jersey
school systems. During her tenure, the department became known for its creativity and
workmanship as demonstrated in the sets created for plays, murals painted throughout the
high school (now middle school), countless awards by her students in statewide art shows,
and students pursuing the craft.
Jean also utilized her talents within the community: co-leading an award-winning slide
show series on the history of Hammonton, designing glass windows for local churches,
bringing her talents to hospital galas, and designing the program covers for Cape atlantic
League athletic awards ceremonies. Jean was also known for her presence at sporting events
within the community. With her signature lawn chair and woolen brown lap blanket, Jean
was a fixture at her son’s football games and her daughter’s field hockey and softball games.
Her love for sport and support of the community extended beyond her children’s high school
years and Jean attended many Hammonton High School sporting events for the next 20
years.
a Memorial Service was held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the Marinella funeral
Home. Burial was private at the convenience of the family.

HaMMONtON—Police made
a number of local arrests last week,
including the following, according
to a report by Hammonton Police
Detective Sgt. edward Slimm.
• On October 24 at 1:06 p.m.,
arturo Garcia, 42, of Valley av-
enue was arrested at police head-
quarters on outstanding warrants,
the report said. according to the re-
port, the warrants were as follows:
Hammonton $2,500 and Winslow
twp. two warrants totaling $850
(total $3,350). He was processed
and later released pending court in
Hammonton Joint Municipal Court
and the arresting officer was Offi-
cer William Kurz, the report said.
• On October 26 at 2 p.m., Kreg
travis, 19, of Hammonton was ar-
rested at his residence on the 300
block of South egg Harbor road,
Slimm’s report said. He was ar-
rested for a theft from eastern
Phoenix inc. of Hammonton, the
report said. On Oct. 25 at 7:44
p.m., the business had reported a
tip jar containing approximately
$20 stolen from their store, the re-
port said. further investigation led
to the arrest of travis, who was
charged with theft on a summons
and released pending court in
Hammonton Joint Municipal
Court, according to the report.
Slimm’s report said the arresting
officer was Det. David reustle.
• On October 27 at 4:53 p.m.,
Marcos Baltazar-alonzo, 28, of
Peach Street was arrested for driv-
ing while under the influence
(DWi), the report said. according
to Slimm’s report, Baltazar-alonzo
had been stopped for a motor vehi-
cle violation and was found to be
DWi while operating a silver 2005
ford. He was stopped in the area
of front Street and Passmore av-
Michael D. Sabat
Michael D. Sabat, age 48, of Hammonton died suddenly on Monday, October 15, 2018
at his home.
Born in Oxnard, Calif. he lived in Hammonton for many years. He worked for richard
Lemmerman Moving Company in egg Harbor City.
He was predeceased by his parents, thomas and Dolores Sabat. Surviving is his loving
wife, Melissa Sabat (nee tucker); three children, Joshua Sabat, Dakota Sabat and autumn
Leaf Sabat; his brothers and sisters, Gerlad, Charles, Bruce (Molly) and Greg Sabat, David
Harris, Diane Watson (Jim) and Vicky DeWolfe (troy); grandfather of ezra Sabat.
Services are private at the request of the family.

died on thursday,

She was born in

greatest joy was to
cook and bake for
her family.
