Lois J. DeNardo
Lois J. DeNardo, age 79, of Blue Anchor died peacefully on October
17, 2018 surrounded by her family at the Samaritan Center in Voorhees,
of complications from leukemia.
Lois was born and raised in Egg Harbor to the late Frank and Dorothy
(Willits) Deltrone. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in Ham-
monton. She worked as a maintenance technician at Whitehall Laborato-
ries in Hammonton.
Lois is predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Michael
DeNardo who passed away in July; her sister, Elizabeth Deltrone. She is
survived by her siblings, Frank “Bucky” Deltrone of Egg Harbor City,
Mary (Michael) Ciocca of Stratford, Margaret (Nicholas) Fortis of Galloway Township, and
Susan (Michael) Passamante of Collings Lakes; her three children, Michael (Barbara)
DeNardo of Cherry Hill, Linda (Alan) Stangl of Nazareth, Pa. and Sharon (Mark) Rockey
of Bartlett, Tenn.; loving grandmother of Lindsey (Nick) Gerrity, Alan, Eve, Luke and David
Stangl and one great-grandson, Luke Gerrity and sister-in-law, Sr. Antoniette DeNardo,
MPF. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Lois’s family wishes to express sincere appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Andres Ferber
and Christina Dolson of MD Anderson at Cooper, and Dr. Richard Costa of Winslow, N.J.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on October 20 at St. Simon Stock Parish -
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Berlin. Inurnment was held privately at the convenience
of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Discovery Min-
istries, P.O. Box 76, Haddonfield, NJ 08033.

George T. Sampson
George T. Sampson Sr., age 81, of Winslow died on October 15, 2018.
Mr. Sampson worked for the Laborers Union Local #172 for many years before retiring.
He was an active member of Grace Community Church in Waterford Works and a member
of the Railroad Evangelistic Association.
Beloved husband of Marlene Sampson (nee Pagano); devoted father of George T. Samp-
son, Jr. (Jennine), Brenda Sampson, Brian Sampson, Eleanor Kelly, Michelle Sampson and
the late Sharon Wickliff; loving grandfather of Danny (Danielle), Georgie, Jason, Rachel
(Desmond), Nicole and Tara and great-grandfather of Tyler, Makayla and DJ; dear cousin
of Ellen Aiello.
Relatives and friends attended a Funeral Service on October 23 at Grace Community
Church in Waterford Works. Burial will followed in Winslow Methodist Cemetery.

Elena A. Martinelli
Elena A. Martinelli (nee Mascola), 91, of Hammonton died on Thurs-
day, October 18, 2018 at the Hammonton Center.
Born in Philadelphia she was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Martinelli
worked in admissions at Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital and also
worked at Britta’s Shoes in Hammonton.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; her son, Gregory and
her brother, Salvatore Mascola. Mrs. Martinelli is survived by her grand-
daughter, Stephanie Martinelli of Waterford; her cousins and caregivers,
Kimberly Murphy of Mays Landing and Lorraine Castaldi of Hammon-
ton and her daughter-in-law, Joann Martinelli of Waterford.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at St. Mary of
Mt. Carmel Parish—St. Joseph Church, Hammonton. Burial followed in Holy Sepulchre
Cemetery. Arrangements made by the Carnesale Funeral Home.

HAMMONTON—Police made
several arrests last week, includ-
ing the following, Hammonton
Police Detective Sgt. Edward
Slimm said in a report.
• On October 16 at 3:21 p.m.,
on the 100 block of E. Orchard
Street, Abimael Barreto-Ruiz, 18,
of Hammonton, was arrested on
two outstanding warrants, both in
the amount of $1,000, from Ham-
monton Joint Municipal Court,
Slimm’s report said. Barreto-Ruiz
was processed and later released
pending court and the arresting of-
ficer was Officer William Kurz,
Slimm’s report said.
• On October 19 at 5:57 p.m.,
John Legore, 60, of Hammonton,
was arrested on the 100 block of
East Orchard Street on an out-
standing warrant in the amount of
Lions fundraiser at Silver Coin
Jo Ann LoSasso Donio
Jo Ann LoSasso Donio, 77, of Burlington, N.C., died on Wednesday,
October 17, 2018 at her residence.
She was born in Philadelphia and was the daughter of the late John
Louis and Clementina DeSanto LoSasso. Jo Ann was married for 55 years
to Joe Donio who survives. She retired from LabCorp after 17 years of
service. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where
she also was a member of the St. Lucy’s Circle, the Eucharistic ministry
and helped serve homebound communion. She was a loving and devoted
wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Joe; daughters, Maria Kraycirik
(Stephen) and Andrea Donio (Stephanie Peate); grandchild, Gianna and brother, Robert
LoSasso.
A memorial Mass was held on Monday, October 22, 2018 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic
Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Debt Reduction Initiative or the
Little Portions Food Pantry c/o Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, P.O. Box 619, Burling-

Lions will hold their fall Silver Coin fundraiser on Monday, October 29 from 5
p.m. to 8 p.m. King Lion Michael Villani is pictured with diner staff to promote
an evening of good food and fellowship. The management of the Silver Coin
generously donates 10 percent of customer checks to the club. The Lions in-
vite all residents to join them in their efforts to raise money for Lions and com-
munity projects. The coupon given at the door that evening will cover eat-in
and take-out orders.
Man flees accident scene

• On October 21 at 12:51 a.m.,
Walter Walker, 73, of Mays Land-
ing was arrested in the area of
South Chew Road and 11th Street,
Slimm’s report said.
According to Slimm’s report,
Walker was stopped for a motor
vehicle violation and found to be
driving while under the influence
(DWI). He was processed and
later released pending court in
Hammonton Joint Municipal
Court, Slimm’s report said. He
was charged with DWI, reckless
driving, careless driving, and fail-
ure to maintain lane, Slimm’s re-
port said. According to Slimm’s
report, he was driving a 1999
white Chrysler. The arresting offi-
cer was Officer Kyle Ambrozaitis,
according to Slimm’s report.
Barbara Marie
Waddell
Barbara Marie Waddell (Edson), 79,
of Hammonton, died peacefully in her
home on Saturday, October 20 sur-
rounded by her loving family. Formerly
of Maplewood/ South Orange, New Jer-
sey where she attended Columbia High
School and married her high school
sweetheart Jim. She was a registered
nurse who enjoyed a long career in nurs-
ing, most recently in occupational ther-
apy with Prudential. Barbara was a
devoted wife and mother to four success-
ful sons. She was a parishioner of Our
Lady of Sorrows in South Orange and an
accomplished pianist and piano teacher,
but perhaps her biggest legacy was her
unbreakable love with Jim.
She is predeceased by her parents,
Edwin and Regina Edson (Walsh) and
sister, Joan Burrell.
She is survived by her beloved hus-
band of 58 years, James P. Waddell Sr.;
loving sons, James P. Waddell Jr. (Ken-
neth Gallaher), Thomas E. Waddell (Lo-
rian Adamucci), Christopher J. Waddell
(Charlene Cerato), and John R. Waddell
(Christina Rosbert); two sisters, Eileen
Iantosca and Judith Griffin (Anthony);
grandchildren, Ryan, Sara, Mikayla,
Megan, Briana, JT, Jake and Hannah.
Cremation is being held private for the
family. A celebration of life will be held
Saturday, November 17 in Spring Lake,
NJ, a time and place will be announced.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking do-
nations to be made in Barbara’s name to
Heartland Hospice at 2111 New Road,
Suite 100, Northfield, NJ 08225.
