Eppler (nee Pugh), 79, of Hammonton, and formerly of Or- mond Beach, Fla., died on Monday, September 30, 2019 at Virtua Hos- pital in Voorhees. She was born and raised in Bridgeton, and graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1958. She worked for World Class Flowers in Egg Har- bor City for many years, retiring in 1994. Surviving are her loving husband, William F. Eppler, Sr. of 59 years; her children, Thomas R. Eppler and his wife Patricia, William F. Eppler, Jr and his wife Alberta, Andrew C. Eppler and his wife Jennifer all of Hammonton, and Anne Papp and her husband Allan of Bridgewater, N.J. Carol is the loving grandmother of Melissa and Megan Eppler, Leah and Glen Papp and great-grandmother of Aiden Papp. Viewings were held Thursday, October 3, and Friday, October 4, at Calvary Chapel, Hammonton. A service was also held Friday at Calvary Chapel. Burial was private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carol’s memory to the Calvary Chapel, 660 S. Santa “Sue” Padulese Santa “Sue” Padulese, (nee Arena) , 94, of Hammonton died peace- fully on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at the residence of her caregivers Frank and Pamela DiGerolamo. Born in Philadelphia, she was raised in Hammonton. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Atlantic Community College. Sue retired from NJ Bell Telephone as a supervisor after 42 years of service. Pad- ulese formerly worked as a substitute teacher at St. Joseph’s Regional School. She was a member of St. Mary of Mount Carmel’s Rosary Altar Society and the Telephone Pioneers. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Church where she served as a CCD Teacher, Eucharistic Minister, a Lector and also helped with the RCIA Program. Padulese was predeceased by her husband, Carmen “Slick” Padulese; her parents, Mariano and Gaetana (nee Ruggeri) Arena; her sisters, Rosie, Angie and Annie and her brother, John. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, October 7, 2019 in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish, Church of St. Joseph’s, Hammonton, where a viewing was also held. Burial was private at the convenience of the family. Vivadelli (nee Miller), 91, of Hammonton died peacefully on September 28, 2019 at Seashore Gardens Living Center in Galloway. Born in St. Benedict, Pa., she spent many years of her life in Edison, N.J., before becoming a Hammonton resident nine years ago. She was a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish as well as a member of the HK Fire Co. Women’s Auxiliary. She is predeceased by her parents, James Gilbert Miller and Rose Miller. Surviving are her three daughters, Denise Roselle, Patricia Paolucci and Karen Mixey (Jack); brother, Marlin Joseph Miller and her sisters, Louise Rennie and Alice Anna. She was the beloved grand- mother of Sharon Bolan-Cole (Rob), Steven Bolan (Karen), Jason Vi- vadelli (Jill), and Krysta Peterson (Brandon); great-grandmother of Rachel and Nicholas Cole, Justin, Jenna and Jordyn Vivadelli, and Rebecca and Chase Bolan. Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial were held October 5 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish-St. Anthony of Padua Church, Hammonton. Burial followed at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 124 S. DWI arrest made by Gabe Donio G AZETTE S TAFF W RITER HAMMONTON—A man was arrested at 6:06 p.m. on October 2 at the intersection of the White Horse Pike (Route 30) and Route 206 and charged with driving while under the influence (DWI), in part because he did not make way for an emergency vehicle driving behind him, Hammonton Police Chief Kevin Friel said. While responding to a call for service, Sgt. Jason Rigby encoun- tered a black pickup truck which Phyllis E. Zane Phyllis E. Zane (nee Waldron), 89, of Hammonton, formerly of Folsom and Buena, died on Wednesday, September 25, 2019. She grew up and lived in the National Park/Woodbury area where she met and married the late Clarence “Bob” Zane. Phyllis and her husband then relocated to the Folsom area where they raised their family and established a family business, Folsom Iron Works. They also made numerous road trips around the United States with family and friends. She also took a tour of Europe with her sister and friends. Phyllis loved to read, watch her stories on TV, follow the Philadelphia Phillies, listen to country music and spend time with her family and friends. Surviving are her two sons, Todd (Robin) Zane of Hammonton and Barry (Ellen) Zane of Franklinville. She leaves behind her loving grandchildren, Marci Zane (Dan), Kevin Zane, Bobby Zane (Kelly), Nicole Perone and Lindsay Agren. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. At Phyllis’ request and at the request of her family, services were private. As the prior call was handled by another officer, Sgt. Rigby initiated a motor vehi- cle stop on Route 206 at the inter- section of Route 30. As he approached the vehicle, he found it was occupied by Jeffrey Stephens, 54, of Robbinsville, New Jersey, who had the odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath and person,” Friel said. Stephens was placed in police custody, transported to headquar- ters and processed for driving while under the influence, reck- less driving, failure to maintain lane of travel, failure to yield right of way to an emergency vehicle and failure to stop for an emer- gency vehicle, Friel said. Rigby was the arresting officer, Friel said. Stephens was released as per John’s Law pending a court date in Hammonton Joint Munic- ipal Court, Friel said.
