Donio said the “ time was right ” to sell the newspaper .
“ We appreciated Louie Mullen ’ s offer and we know he will maintain our commitment to quality community-minded journalism as he moves forward as the new owner of The Hammonton Gazette ,” Donio said .
Donio thanked the staff members as well as the many supporters of The Gazette throughout its first 25 years . He said the newspaper would continue to serve the local readers of Hammonton and the surrounding area under its new ownership .
“ I want to especially thank Gina Rullo , Dan Russoman , Mary- Susan Hoffman , Sean Friel , Jaime Wuillermin , Joseph F . Berenato , Donna Brown , Franki Rudnesky , Jessica Caruso and all our contributors for everything they have done to make The Gazette the great newspaper it is today ,” Donio said .
It is the new owner ’ s intent to retain all current staff . Mullen additionally owns weeklies in Wyoming , South Dakota , North Dakota , Washington , Oregon , Michigan and Iowa .

Mullen spoke about the acquisition of The Hammonton Gazette .
“ The staff of The Gazette publishes a fantastic product . The reason it continues to thrive in our changing times and economy is a direct reflection of the care they have for this community . I ’ d like to personally thank Gina and Gabe for their continued commitment to excellence in their editorial product and the opportunity they ’ ve given me . I look forward to working with them and the rest of the staff at The Gazette moving forward . This is an incredible business and I ’ m lucky to be involved ,” Mullen said .
Donio and Rullo remain in their current positions .
“ The Gazette staff remains unchanged . Gabe and I are committed to quality journalism and to the team we helped create . As one reader said , the ownership may have changed but the stewardship is the same ,” Rullo said .
Donio and Rullo were represented by John Cribb of Cribb , Cope & Potts . CCP is a leading merger and acquisition firm with offices in Montana , California and Arkansas .
“ We appreciate working with John Cribb and would recommend him to anyone ,” Rullo said .
The sale was effective September 30 . Terms were not disclosed .
Arrested

Officer Travis Hoffman responded and came in contact with a female subject named Connor Aregood , 30 , of Woodbury Heights , Friel said .
“ She was upset about not receiving her electronic device back from the facility and was not happy the staff said the device could not be returned until 12 p . m . on September 23 ,” Friel said .
Aregood became disorderly and was advised she was no longer welcome on the location , Friel said .
Friel said she was subsequently placed under arrest , transported to police headquarters and charged with defiant trespass .
She was released pending a court hearing in Hammonton Joint Municipal Court , Friel said .
Hoffman is the investigating and arresting officer , Friel said .
This report is comprised of arrests and investigations made by the men and women of local enforcement . All suspects and arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law .
