Mae Sacco
Mae Sacco, 89, of Hammonton died on September 26, 2018 after a
s hort illness.
Born in Hammonton on October 24, 1928, she was a lifelong Ham-
monton resident. She was employed by Whitehall Laboratory for many
years. Mae enjoyed spending summers in Sea isle City, playing pinochle,
and traveling. She spent many days watching her brothers’ and nephews’
sporting events.
Mae was predeceased by her parents, anthony and Stella (Bruno)
Sacco; brother, frank (Nancy) and sister-in-law, alice. She is survived
by her brothers, anthony (Judy) and Nuncie (Kathy), as well as many
beloved nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and a great-great nephew and niece.
She will be sadly missed by all.
a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on tuesday, October 2, 2018 at St. Mary of
Mt. Carmel Parish—St. Joseph Church. Burial followed in Greenmount Cemetery.

Joanne Mannery
Joanne Mannery, 58, of Hammonton died on thursday, September 27,
2018 at home.
She was born and raised in atlantic City and graduated from Holy
Spirit High School. Joanne worked as a bartender at Luby’s Bar in egg
Harbor City.
She was predeceased by her son, Nicholas Mannery; her parents,
Clemont and Virginia Mannery; her brother, Clemont Mannery and her
sister, Virginia Hansberry. She is survived by her husband, Michael
richardson; three children, Corey Mannery, Michael e. richardson,
Melanie Jeannotte; her mother-in-law, Sandra Strahm; her sister, Jessie
Craker and her niece, tara Becker.
a visitation will be held on friday, October 5, 2018 from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at the Car-
nesale funeral Home, 202 S. third Street in Hammonton, where funeral services will take
place at 7:30 p.m. in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to help with fu-
neral expenses.

Luz “Minerva” Rodriguez
Luz “Minerva” rodriguez died peacefully on September 23, 2018.
Minerva was born in Salinas, Puerto rico on December 6, 1948. a
loving wife, sister, mother, aunt and grandmother, she was also a remark-
able seamstress, artist, and choir director for 30 years amongst her many
other talents. She loved baking, arts and crafts, organizing, puzzle making
and teaching others how to sing for the Lord. for many years leading up
to her passing, she showed incredible strength surviving through her com-
plicated health issues. She was dedicated to her St. Joseph’s church family
as well as serving on the Board of trustees, Parish Council, Cursillo, Le-
gion of Mary and spearheading programs such as a Children’s Choir,
Daughters of Mary and the Strategic army of Christ. Luz also worked for 32 years as an in-
structional aide for Mullica township Schools.
Minerva was predeceased by her loving parents, ramon and andrea reyes; her two sis-
ters, Carmen Santiago and Sicilia Herrera. Minerva is survived by her husband of 51 years,
Miguel; her daughters , emma Lopez (ray), elizabeth Jones (Willie), Luz Dow (rich);
grandchildren, Kiara, Sean, Victoria and Calista and step-grandchildren, ray and ashley;
her sisters, iraida Melendez (Mateo), Susana rosado, Maria teresa reyes (alejandro) and
brothers, raymond reyes (ramona), George reyes (Melitina) and many nieces and
nephews.

David F. Mattia Sr.
David f. Mattia Sr., 82, of Waterford Works died on Monday, September 24, 2018 at his
residence.
Born in Hammonton, he was a lifelong area resident. David worked as Crew Supervisor
for the N.J. fish and Game Land Management for 39 years, retiring in 2002. David served
in the NJ. National Guard, and enjoyed gardening and landscaping around his house.
He was predeceased by his wife, Diana. He is survived by his son, David f. Jr and his
wife Sandy of Hammonton. as per David’s wishes funeral Service will be private.

Police investigate crimes, make arrests

HaMMONtON—Police were
involved in a number of investiga-
tions and arrests last week, includ-
ing the following, Hammonton
Police Lt. Kevin friel said.
• On September 24 at 4:18 p.m.,
a motorcycle was reported as
stolen from the 300 block of
Golden Wheat Court.
friel said the complainant
stated the neon Honda Grom 125
was taken from the parking space
on Golden Wheat Court.
“it was last seen at approxi-
mately 7 p.m. in the parking spot.
He discovered it missing at 3:45
a.m. and later contacted police,”
friel said.

a theft was reported on the 700

plainant stated that while at the
700 block of the White Horse
Pike, equipment was taken off the
back of his work trailer, friel said.

blower was taken from the back of
the trailer sometime between 7
a.m. and 5 p.m. on September 24,
Firepit flare causes fire

tion, Joseph Siubis, 41, of Ham-
monton was contacted and he
stated that he threw a flare into a
firepit to start a fire, and the flare
exploded and shot at the neighbor-
ing residence, friel said. further
investigat ion showed that the flare
was a signal flare that became a
projectile, friel said.
Siubis was arrested and charged
with arson, criminal mischief and
was later released with a court ap-
pearance in Hammonton Joint
Municipal Court, friel said.
Officer Brandan Campbell was
the arresting officer, friel said.
Bessie L. Guidos
Bessie L. Guidos (nee Walsh), 80, of Smithville died on friday, September 28, 2018 at
home.
Born in fort Meade, Md. she formerly lived in folsom and moved to Smithville five
years ago. She worked as an LPN at the Vineland Developmental Center in Vineland. Mrs.
Guidos was a former Girl Scout Leader and a softball coach for the folsom athletic asso-
ciation.
She was predeceased by her husband, roger Guidos Sr.; her daughter, Kathleen Walsh;
her parents, edward and Bessie Walsh; her brother, edward Walsh Jr. and her sister, Mary
Jane Haberman. Mrs. Guidos is survived by her daughters, randi Guidos of Smithville;
Julie Carty and her husband Joe of Buena; her son, roger Guidos and his wife Kate of
Smithville; her six grandchildren, Marissa, Joseph, emmalee, tessa, Jason, amelia and her
beloved dog “Jeter.”
a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October, 8, 2018, 12 p.m. in
St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish—St. Joseph Church, 226 french St., Hammonton, where a
visitation will be held from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Burial will be private.

HaMMONtON—according
to Hammonton Police Lt. Kevin
friel, police received a call at 1:41
p.m. on September 16 regarding a
person who fell off the back of a
truck on Bairdmore avenue.
rosemarie Jacobs, 64, of Ham-
monton, had fallen off a 2002 red
ford f-150 pickup operated by a
Joseph Jacobs, 65, of Hammon-
ton, friel said.
“Mrs. Jacobs had fallen off of
the truck and struck her head on
the roadway surface, causing in-
juries,” friel said.
rosemarie Jacobs was trans-
ported to atlantiCare atlantic
City trauma Unit for injuries sus-
tained, friel said.
She succumbed to injuries on
September 20 at 1:37 p.m. at at-
lantiCare atlantic City, friel said.
the motor vehicle crash/fatal is
being investigated by Sgt. Sean
Grasso of the Hammonton Police
Department, who is in contact
with the atlantic County Prosecu-
tor’s Offices fatal accident Unit,
friel said.
